A few weeks ago, the pictures were making the rounds on social media. The pictures of “Mama Africa” at her finest. The picture we speak of is the photo above, of a Nigerian woman riding a horse through the streets of London.
The picture is from Adeyemi Michael’s short filmĀ Entitled which gives some depth about the struggles and realities of adapting to a new country as an immigrant.
What does the immigrant fantasy feel like? Adeyemi Michael reimagines his motherās idea of moving from Nigeria to Peckham in Entitled, a short film about leaving your country of origin. Riding a horse dressed in traditional Yoruba ceremonial wear, Abosede Afolashade, a first generation immigrant, takes to the streets of Peckham.
