One in a million part 1 and part 2.
Kensteve Anuka
Harrison Arokor
2009
-Story: [1 out of 5] The basis of the storyline itself is quite good. Under good hands this could have turned out to be quite an immaculate movie. But when you give movies to Kensteve Anuka (dot dot dot) (don’t know what I’m saying? Just do a quick search on Kensteve Anuka on this blog and you’ll see). I mean, most of the movie was just drenched in ridiculousness. For starters, which kain tin be to tell ya London girlfriend say you dey return to Naija to meet the woman wey your mama pick for you. If you come like am, you go stay back marry am. If not, you go return for the white lady. Like seriously? How dumb do you think white folks are? No, honestly
-Originality: [2 out of 5] The mainframe was original but the little parts that made up the whole were basically things we’d seen before
-Predictability: [2 out of 5] Comme si, comme ca
-Directing/Editing: [1 out of 5] From overly prolonged scenes to ‘hella unnecessary scenes’, Kensteve just has this innate capacity to annoy me
-Acting quality: [3 out of 5] Dear Mike Ezuruonye, if no one else will tell you let me tell you now, you are too good for these movies. Yes o! Don’t mind all those false prophets who preach that no human being is too good for any scenario involving other human beings. Maybe in real life there is no such thing as being too ‘big’ for an occasion or a place or a ceremony or whatever. But when it comes to your career darling, you are too much for this movie… It would be like Genevieve Nnaji in 2012 starring in a Kensteve Anuka direction (abi na production or wareva).Everybody else was okay. Nadia did a good enough job. I usually hate Selassie’s acting but I’ve found that she’s not that annoying when she doesn’t have a major role.
