In Iredu is a short film that is adapted from Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”. It is directed and produced by Abiola Sobo and stars Deyemi Okanlawon, Adenike Ayeni, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju and Ijeoma Grace Agu.
The story depicts a Nigerian version of Macbeth with Ogagun who is trying to take over as much of Nigeria as possible in post-colonial times. I wouldn’t dub it the most entertaining short film of the year or anything of the such; however, it does well as an attempt at graphically dark features in nollywood.
