How can the same industry that gives us “The Meeting” churn out something like “Blackberry Babes”? So what is this whole made-in-America movie thing about? Is that still nollywood? And why do we call her a Yoruba movie actress and her a nollywood actress, aren’t they the same thing?
There is no simple answer to any of these questions. Oh wait, maybe there is.
In the following infographic we try to break apart the various types of nollywood movies for the curious mind.

Good breakdown. Then the question I would ask is how does one define what is a “Nollywood” production – is it based on the entire move being shot in Nigeria, even though the director (and possibly the producer/producers) is a Nigerian of the Diaspora (of Nigerian descent, but based/raised outside of Nigeria), and the actors represent Nigerians directly from Nigeria, and also of the Diaspora, or is it based on something else?
Just a thought 🙂
Hey Alfia, great question! We actually have a post from earlier responding to that question HERE. It just basically goes over what we think can be defined as Nollywood.
