Pastor Emmanuel Iren, the Nigerian pastor behind the Celebration Church International, now a filmmaker, announced that he has been working on a feature film, “What About Us?” which will be hitting the cinemas on July 12th.
The suspense-filled drama explores the complexities of marriage through the interwoven stories of two couples.
The film, directed by Kayode Kasum, follows a Christian couple as they struggle to keep their marriage afloat. But when a new couple move in next door, the problems that have plagued their marriage come to a fever pitch, as the wife begins a relationship too close for comfort with the husband next door.
Pastor Emmanuel Iren, the Pastor of Celebration Church International, is the executive producer and is also responsible for the story. Ife Olujuyigbe is the writer of the screenplay.
The film cast includes Uzor Arukwe, Folu Storms, Kunle Remi, Teniola Aladese, Seyi Awolowo, Marycolette Unamka and Atlanta Bridget Johnson.
Tochukwu Macdonald Sunday, who is a producer of the film alongside Bisola Badejo made a post about the film on Instagram, saying,
“What About Us? is a film that will touch your heart and spark important conversations,”
The film director, Kayode Kasum expressed gratitude to Pastor Emmanuel Iren for bringing him on the project, calling it a “privilege to bring a powerful story to life,” in a post also on Instagram.
