Candle Night
Uche Jombo, Kalu Ikeagwu, Ecow Smith Asante, Princess Lovelyn Nwosu, Charles I Dean
The movie, Candle Night, is divided into three parts namely Candle Night 1-3.
-Story: [3 out of 5] Beautiful beautiful story line. After watching this movie I was wondering which was a better story, Adams apple or Candle Night. Let’s just say that Princess Loveline Nwosu outdid herself for a newbie. This is one of those rare nollywood movies that I’d advise you to buy and watch and watch and watch it again. And whenever you have guests you should pull it out and watch it again and again
-Originality: [2 out of 5] I love Uche and Kalu’s storyline. I however feel like the story between Ecow Smith Asante and Princess has been done before by Yvonne Okoro and John Dumelo in the game as well as Ramsey Noah and Ini Edo in Memories of my heart. I also can’t claim that it was a rip since the movies were released around the same time (not much stealing possible
-Predictability: [3 out of 5] I definitely did not see the ending of this movie coming.
-Directing/Editing: [2 out of 5] My only problem was in this one scene where Uche and Kalu are fighting over who will take the company car out whilst there is another car sitting on the other side. Two scenes later, Uche supposedly buys newly the same car that was sitting by the side??
-Acting Quality: [3 out of 5] ***SPOILER ALERT*** In the beginning of the movie, like I stated earlier, I was very anti Princess Lovelyn Nwosu’s acting. My reasoning simply being that it is impossible for one to act great and direct great, something has to be wrong. When she started acting, I was thinking to myself “what is this?” At that point only two things were possible, either this Princess girl can not act at all or her character is very very fake. Well, in the end let’s just say I was partially right and partially wrong. She was actually acting very well because it turned out that her character was faking all along (slight smile). However, the Charles I Dean man still can’t act though. The acting in this movie was hilarious and beyond commendable, everyone did a great job. Special kudos to Mr. Macleans, aka Kalu Ikeagwu, he over-stood out in this movie for me (not a word). I am now looking forward to seeing him in Damage.
-Settings and Costumes: [2 out of 5] Great, except the fact that the lady with the folds chose the wrong clothing. Her outfits exaggerated her belly size. I’m not even trying to be rude here, that’s just what it was.
-Video and Audio Quality [2 out of 5] On point except the random scenes where the camera would shake or change positions very rapidly (not subtle at all, get a better camera man)
-Soundtrack [2 out of 5] The words to the soundtrack aren’t really that amazing but the plus side to this is that you don’t hear the soundtrack till the very end of a movie. However, the lyrics are amusing and the beat is greatly suited to the film
Candle Night – I personally did not like this movie one bit, too many unnecessary/over-played scenes and I believe both Kalu/Uche have done much better. Used my fwd button through out the movie. Like u said earlier, I got the movie cos of Uche & Kalu.
