-Story: [3 out of 5] It was almost a perfect story it just had two flaws. Firstly there were way too many twists in there that it might give you a headache trying to keep up (it’s like ‘pause’…. what’s this guy’s character again?) and secondly, the story was fine and would have been even finer without the unnecessary sex scenes but then again, the movie would not have sold half as much as it did without the sex scenes so… moving on
-Originality: [2 out of 5] It is your usual betrayal from Ghana story where every one is betraying everyone, people killing people, people lying to people, folks sleeping with other folks… (o wait! I just described your typical Frank Rajah suspense).
-Predictability: [3 out of 5] Uhm… no! I’d have to give it to the makers on predictability, however, the movie did still end the way I expected it to. There was no villain smirk at the end or villain’s disassembled pieces rising up from the sand to show that they might be a sequel (think spiderman, batman, superman or any other man movie)
-Directing/Editing: [2 out of 5] Generally all round good. Not amazing cinematography (yet not terrible). Kudos on making a movie of this sort in only two parts. My only qualm is the sex scenes, they were so ridiculously unnecessary. Even Jim Iyke’s sex scenes have more purpose. It was like, shoot, betray, kill, die, talk… whoops! Time for a sex scene!!! And there were so many little things in the movie that were a bit too forward, like in the beginning John Dumelo meets Yvonne Nelson in the morning. They go to the wall. A couple minutes later, they are making out. Dear Ghanaians, na so una dey do? Hmm…
-Acting quality: [3 out of 5] The extras in this movie did not as bad as the usuals are. I’ll just go down the list of the actors in this movie as regards their performances and renditions. Start from the top, Majid Michel did his thing. He is a great actor. You know this. I know this. If you don’t think this then… o well. John Dumelo did as John Dumelo does. I was not in any way impressed by him in fact I was almost nearly irked by him in the prison scene where he was talking to Nadia and Nadia is all “Do you honestly believe that I killed Tracy?” (add melodramatic tone for full effect) and John is all ***with one tear in his eye*** “Noooo… Do you believe that I killed her?” and the camera switches scenes and I’m thinking “Oooo…. K?” You call that acting? Prince o dear david my God Osei… whoosh! No be today this guy begin vex me… he can not redeem himself anymore. I give up. There’s just something about him that makes me want to punch the screen (but I don’t because this laptop is still relatively new thank you very much). Yvonne Nelson was bleh… her performance in part one was bordering on weak. Nadia definitely outshone her (which is weird cos I was previously of the school of thought that Nadia was incapable of acting). Something about Yvonne’s gesticulations and posture just shuts down any effort she puts in as an actress. Right words. Right force. Wrong stamina. Wrong posture. Nadia o dear Buari, I have no complaints. Can you imagine? She did her role justice and got out of the movie before she could cause damage. Martha Ankomah. You know when she spoke the first sentence of her lines I thought… “Wow! I might like this babe in this movie”… and then she continued talking and talking (and murdering the English language, might I add) and I’m thinking… “Off with her head!” (think… French Revolution guillotine). I mean, what the heck is
“You know since that bastard made me lost my womb I never want to attend any”
what grammar? Kofi and Gavivina barely had any scenes yet their presence was felt. Luckie, as always… I love her as long as she’s not talking. I also have extreme respect for her and Nadia in this movie for being the only females still standing with their clothes entirely on. Jackie Appiah did the old lady role justice indeed.
-Setting: [4 out of 5] On point
-Costume/Make-Up: [2 out of 5] Tell me why all these females were walking around in bra and pant? Uhm… clothes? Anyone? Females watch these movies too… permit me to rephrase… STRAIGHT females watch these movies too
-Props and Graphics: [3 out of 5] On Point
-Video Quality: [4 out of 5] Well done
-Audio Quality [3 out of 5] Good
-Soundtrack: [3 out of 5] Nice
-Musical Score: [4 out of 5] Nicely done
