-Story: [1 out of 5] The story was poor. The story was (forgive my grammar) shitty. It was too forward, I mean Ini Edo touches a car that Ali Nuhu is in and Ali Nuhu comes out; Ini Edo runs off and Ali Nuhu is in love. Like are you shitting me? If love worked that way then Usher would have fallen in love with me when I went to his concert. Even love at first sight does not work that way. Plus the continuity was very messed up.
-Originality: [0 out of 5] Zero because there is nothing original about it besides its name. I wonder where that came from? I was just sitting down after watching this movie and wondering what on earth the title means. Princess Throne? Did the mean The princess’ throne or Crown of a princess. Either ways, that still has nothing to do with the movie. What princess and what throne?
-Predictability: [0 out of 5] I will give it a point for the ending. I mean, in my head I was holping that they could salvage the movie by the end so I was predicting like they go to church and repent or something. But No!!! That’s not what happened. It seemed to me they were acting and acting and someone was like “Yo! We need to cut this movie now, we’re out of film” and they were just like alright now we’re going to do this and do that and call it a day. I wanted to slap myself
-Directing/Editing: [0 out of 5] Honestly, I have seen a lot of low budget movies, like no man’s business. But I just realized that a low budget movie looks a lot more shitty if the story in itself is crap. You can’t blame this kind of movie on the camera “oh we’re too broke” or the setting “we don’t have enough money for a big house”. NO! This movie is just low budget + crappy story = EPIC FAIL. I wish I was on the board for Nigerian movies, we would cut out a lot of bullshit, save Nigerians the stress of watching this.
-Acting quality: [3 out of 5] The only part where I have no complaints. It seems to me that after they read the story and saw how much money they had they were like “Yeah! This movie is going to be terrible so if we want it to sell we should at least fill it with celebrities and people who can act. Then again, I thought Ali Nuhu’s acting was a bit shifty. I don’t know if that’s because I’m not used to seeing him in such roles or because he didn’t sell the look.
-Setting and Costume: [0.5 out of 5] Alright, so all of a sudden Nonso Diobi is rich right? And then he starts dressing up in 10 layers of clothing. I mean are you kidding me? In that hot Nigerian weather way you go dey wear all that? Abeg commot for here. Not only that, earlier in the movie they show a house and present it as Chuks house. All’s fair and everythings fine. Then like 6 scenes later they show Nwachukwu buying the same house. I’m sitting here like how stupid do you think I am? Don’t you think I noticed when you used it as Chuks house. It’s not even from the interior it’s from the exterior so… why wouldn’t I notice? And finally, the supposed Palace looks very unkempt. Africans please, if we’re going to do anything, let’s do it well.
-Video and Audio Quality [2 out of 5] I must admit, I had my doubts about the year in which-this movie was made because of the video quality.
-Soundtrack [0 out of 5] Honestly. I had to close my ears tight everytime the soundtrack came on. At times like this I wish I rated movies in the negative. Story negative 5, Predictability negative 5, music negative infinity. By the time I’m done (dot dot dot)
What?!? No way! Don’t talk about my man like that oh (well not really since he’s married and all)…
3 out of 5, that would be a 5-7 on my rating which is not that bad. I would see it but I think I have a repulsion for old movies.
Thanks anyways
Yes, I saw the movie. It is a movie with a tradtional Igbo setting.Ms Patience role was a evil Queen whose step daughter Ebube was a princess, but the evil queen had her as slave. In my humble opinion the movie had some similarity with the story Cinderella but with the use of Juju. The movie has 4 parts ‘Heart of a Slave’ and ‘The Evil Queen’. My Rating 3 out of 5 stars. It could of be rated higher but Mike Ezuronye mannerisms spoilt it for me.
OH thank you!!! Did you see the said movies and were they good movies?
I think she wrote the script for the movie ‘Heart of a Slave’ and ‘The Evil Queen’. The movie has Patience Ozokwor, Ebube Nwagbo,Leo Mezie and Mike Ezuronye starring in it.
