-Story: [3 out of 5] The story is really good. I mean in the beginning I was going crazy (I don’t know if it was because of the musical score or not but I just remember feeling good about the movie earlier on) and then I sort of lost interest half way through. Maybe because I read the synopsis and knew what would happen or maybe it was not captivating enough.
-Originality: [0 out of 5] Aside from the usual and typical African Blackmail stories, I wouldn’t say this movie took it a step higher but I would say that Frank Rajah tried to approach it from a different perspective (either that or he stole it from a bollywood movie)
UPDATE: It was brought to my attention that (here’s a shocker) this movie was STOLEN! Oh Frank… just this once, just this once I thought you would make an original (that’s a lie, I always knew it was stolen. Just wasn’t sure from where) But now I know where it was stolen from. The movie “A Reason to Kill” by Frank Rajah is a rip of the 2007 bollywood movie, “Red: The Dark Side” by Vikram Bhatt and starring Aftab Shivdasani
-Predictability: [1 out of 5] I will give this movie points on not being predictable. However, I can’t exactly be an amazing judge on that considering that I read the synopsis and knew how it would go. But besides that, I think it was pretty obvious suspense-wise and a little bit predictable-wise. Unless ofcourse you have seen the bollywood version, then it becomes obvious
-Directing/Editing: [4 out of 5] I honestly do not have a specific with this work of Mr. Rajah’s
-Acting quality: [2 out of 5] You remember the guy who went out with Yvonne Nelson in 4 Play Reloaded? I was at a loss but I think he is the same guy in this movie. I don’t know but if that really is him then I must say he has brushed up his acting skills. They are not exactly Majid Michel standards yet, but they are definitely brushed up. There was however one scene that I did not grab sha and it was the one where the police officer opens Majid’s boot to find a dead body. Now in that moment I would expect the policeman to maybe Scream or have a certain WTF look on his face. But No!!! My guy opened the boot, saw the dead body and acted like he just saw a bucket of ice-cream. No big deal, just another day on the job. On a lighter note, I loved Ebi Bright’s acting and will definitely be on the look out for her
-Setting and Costume: [3 out of 5] Ok
-Video and Audio Quality [3 out of 5] On Point
-Soundtrack [3 out of 5] Bernie Anti was amazing with the sound score but something about the music was just off. It had more to do with the lyrics I think. So please Bernie, go work on the lyrics now that you have the beats down
The movie is simply blaaaaaaaaaaah.
i didnt see the need for even 2 parts. its supposed to be a crime movie but no suspense there at all. i think the only people acting there were ebi and majid. not a movie i will watch twice though
You know, I’ve realized that some of these movies were made in one parts but when they are given to the distributors (Executive Image and co.) they are split into two for profit making purposes. It’s sad. Everyone’s trying to get a cut
then lets blackmail the distributors then we (u and i) can also get our cut, what do u think? u will get dollars and i will get pounds cos i need to pay tax to the queenmother.
Lmao @ “I need to pay tax to the queenmother”
Yes o! Let’s get on it, you can initiate the transactions at your end lmao
60% for me, 40% for u. and when i get caught, please dont disown me
Lwkmd… haha shey you be igbo man?
See as guy man wan come pass the original guy man. E no fit happen… I don disown you finish
