Storyline
Overdone
-Story: [3 out of 5] Interesting storyline but if you are going to watch the movie on RealNollyMovie’s channel (I say this cos that’s where I saw it and I’m not sure whether this applies to all versions of this movie) then there’s something you need to know. ‘Gutjube’ on YouTube describes it better than I possibly could:
“Kill The Priest.. and ….The King and The Priest….are the most confusing and mixed up movies that I have ever watched on realnollymovies…All the part 1 and 2’s of these movies are mixed up…..Yet the story line seems to be interesting although not very clear!“
-Originality: [1 out of 5] The same royal storyline… rejected spouse… culture/traditions causing an obstruction… same old same old but with a difference. This time, females can be crowned ‘eze’? And a couple other non-cliched igbo traditions are introduced (most of them still arrant BS though)
-Predictability: [0 out of 5] The movie goes EXACTLY as you would think it’d go
-Directing/Editing: [1 out of 5] The movie was generally good but they didn’t have anything to do so most of the first part of the sequel was basically a flashback… which, I’d like to point out, is a waste of my life. So here’s a word of advice, if you really want to watch this movie… then watch the second part of “The King and the Priest” and then watch the second part of “Kill the Priest”. You will miss absolutely nothing and you’d have saved yourself a lot of time.
-Acting quality: [3 out of 5] I love Mercy Johnson… ’tis no lie. I know of a few people who aren’t fans of hers (for one reason or the other… I’d rather not know) but they are a very small minority and therefore inconsequential (I kid! I kid you… ’tis just a joke). Everyone from Yul to Mercy to Olu to Ebere did an amazing job. The extras were a bit weak but all in all, it was a pretty decent performance from all involved
-Setting: [3 out of 5] Nicely done
-Costume/Make-Up: [3 out of 5] Loved loved loved the traditional attire on everyone, especially Mercy.
-Props and Graphics: [3 out of 5] On Point
-Video Quality: [2 out of 5] Bad lighting in many scenes
-Audio Quality [1 out of 5] Score was louder than dialogue in some scenes and the audio fluctuates in others.
-Soundtrack: [3 out of 5] Loved the beat, loved the lyrics… generally loved the song. Just not into the singer
-Musical Score: [3 out of 5] Good
