Itoro the House Girl
Amanda Ebeye, Moyo Lawal, Melvin Oduah, Uche Ogbodo, Uchenna Nnanna,
This is a grass to grace story about a young lady Itoro who worked as an househelp for a single flirtatious younglady who always maltreated Itoro because of her social standing. By dint of hardwork and a pinch of love, Itoro became a woman to be reckoned with.

Acting
Plot, Character, Story
I have accepted this type of titles. I will say no more on them. This is the second time the name ‘Itoro’ has been used in conjuncture with housegirl. Is it replacing Ekaette? Hopefully, so I can finally get some peace. Let those called Itoro suffer for a while.
This movie’s plot is weak. It is just so weak. I can’t even be upset with it because it is so weak and pathetic. Storylines were resolved in five minutes never to be seen or heard from again. And these storylines were pointless, at least to me, because their existence didn’t make sense in a film named after just one character. The plot was stretched way too thin and it was very crowded both in story and in actors that had no connection in neither proximity nor theme. The character of the Itoro girl was really hard to root for, she was manipulative and mean which made me not really care about anything that happened to her. The characters as a whole were weak and half hearted. The only analogy I can think of is if someone fed you cold food because they could not be bothered to heat it up.Or if someone gave you an empty present. A broken watch.
The acting was average with spotlight son Moyo Lawal, my girl Amanda Ebiye and newcomer Pat Attang. Uchenna Nnanna and Uche Ogbodo were alright. The others could stand to take some lessons especially Ukadike Chinwe; I thought she was okay and with a little more work she could be good. They didn’t properly utilise the range of actresses that they had which was such a shame. For the men, they provided eye candy but after a while they became interchangeable and hard to distinguish.
The opening credits were arresting and certainly were different but they were not spelled right at all –produced became pruduced. Really off-putting. The soundtrack was okay even if the auto tune was a bit hard to stomach. The costuming on the other hand was erratic; at one time Uche Ogbodo was wearing this offensive orange wig. No. Just no. It really eclipsed everything else in her scenes. The setting as well was hit and miss.
In conclusion, I am so apathetic about this movie I have to talk in analogies and metaphors. It was really like drinking tepid water, if you enjoy tepid water or bland uninspiring food then this one is for you.
Melvin needs to stay the heck away from acting
