It is good to enjoy yourself in your uni days but within reason because we all know that bad girls who club and smoke will also prostitute and will also do abortions and will grow into bad wives with unhappy marriages. We all know that good girls who go to every event held by the church might end up meeting a broke soulmate at first but don’t worry because in the future, they will be rich. And then of course there is the issue of the wishy-washy girl who is neither here nor there. She is a bit more than a sinner but not yet the sinnerest. Oh! She has it worse because she’s not as good at being bad as the bad girls are. So her fate will obviously be the worst of them all.
If only this was how God operated, from a formula book where all his creations are similar to the products of a line-factory. A+B then Z.
Needless to say that the movie “Girls are not smiling” is definitely not the most original thing we’ve ever seen. It is not that making movies with this storyline is bad, it’s just that it’s overdone. If you are going to do it again in this century then please add a twist or find an iota of originality. Don’t just recycle the formula and churn out the same product.
As far as performances go, the main cast holds their own and the story does keep you watching from start to finish, however, by the end of the movie you haven’t necessarily ‘experienced’ anything that will stay with you.
