Pascal Amanfo
2012
-Story: [3 out of 5] Usually, when I see a movie like this (i.e directed, produced, written by and acted in by the same person) warning bells begin to ring in my head because I just don’t see how one person can do EVERYTHING! I don’t believe in it… I believe in division of labor (thank you very much). But Mr. Amanfo proved me wrong. Now, I’m usually not a huge fan of Amanfo because I classify him somewhere alongside the Mumuni’s and Rajah’s of this world (aka, script rippers). Having said all that, I would like to point out that I absolutely adored this movie… loved loved loved it. From the moment I hit play, it was a ‘go’.
-Originality: [3 out of 5] Different in it’s own way
-Predictability: [4 out of 5] This is a Pascal Amanfo movie, so if anything is a given, it’s the fact that nothing is a given. Pascal has got to add that Amanfo twist to everything!
-Directing/Editing: [4 out of 5] I loved that it was so simply (and rapidly -2 parts-) done. Loved loved loooovvvvvveeeed the cinematography in this movie. Ah-may-zing camera action. Simply amazing! The one scene that the directing did fall short in was the final living room scene before the blackout (I’m saying it like this so as to avoid giving anything away). I felt it was a tad uncoordinated. Except that, this was amazing.
-Acting quality: [2 out of 5] Luckie Lawson. KILLED. IT! Wow… Prince David Osei is incapable of expressing any emotions whatsoever. I was really impressed with Roselyn Ngissah, especially in the scene where *SPOILER ALERT* she had to narrate the medical problem the little boy had to Eddie Nartey. Speaking of which, Eddie Nartey is an amazing actor (I don’t say it enough, but he really is). Whilst we are on the subject of Eddies’… Eddie Watson. This guy no sabi act! It is my sincere desire that you please stop torturing us with your so called acting skills. Guest appearance by the ever so amazing, Ebi Bright. My love for Zynell Lydia Zuh knows no bounds. I think she is quite the actress and has the potential to do amazing things. Martha Ankomah was ok and so was Scott Robert. Pascal Amanfo starred in this movie as Cliff (and shockingly enough, Amanfo can actually act… well!) Standout performance in the movie, however, must be Bismark Nii Odoi. Whom I’ve come to regard as the Ime Bishop Umoh of Ghana. The guy is hilarious and he plays the role of the truck pusher in this movie
-Setting: [3 out of 5] On point
-Costume/Make-Up: [3 out of 5] Good
-Props and Graphics: [2 out of 5] Did not understand what was up with the guns and the so called shooting
-Video Quality: [4 out of 5] Well done
-Audio Quality [2 out of 5] What was that with the gunshot noises? Background noises in some scenes. Can’t hear dialogue over background noises for some hospital scenes
-Soundtrack: [4 out of 5] I absolutely loved it
-Musical Score: [3 out of 5] Nicely done
LMAO NO… I was using Safari (Big girl browser). IDK what happened O.
Hehe gbo gbo bigz girlz… I see you o… I dunno sometimes the irokotv website likes to act up
lol… Im a very critical person and it’s hard to enjoy movies for what they are (entertainment). I think what helped was that I was already exhausted from the day and the browser I used made things slightly blurry. lol
lol @ the browser made things blurry… come! Which browser u sef dey use? IE?
Any movie that has a good cinematography (I can usually tell from the trailers). Has my attention… I might take this recommendation lol…
p.s. Loved Mrs.Somebody..lol
You should! It wasn’t that bad… haha great! I thought Mrs. Somebody was enjoyable as myself, but with a reviewer’s eyes, it wasn’t that great
