The Bride
Van Vicker, Rita Dominic, Tonto Dikeh, Ebube Nwagbo, Ali Nuhu, Ladi J. Torty
The movie, the bride is divided into four parts. The movie is also titled ROYAL RING in some places (The Bride part 1 and part 2, then Royal Ring part 1 and part 2)
-Story: [4 out of 5] The story is awe inspiring, it is very different. I believe it is the direction we are supposed to be heading towards as opposed to the never ending piles of remade story lines we have at the movie stores currently.
-Originality: [4 out of 5] Definitely very original
-Predictability: [4 out of 5] 100% because it comes close to the Hollywood Suspense movies in which one sits, watches and wonders… Who Did IT?
-Directing/Editing: [4 out of 5] I have no complaints. How miraculous is that? Don’t get too used to it.
-Acting quality: [3 out of 5] The good thing about this movie is that they employed the use of little to no first-time actors and actresses [or better-put no names]. In so doing, they cut out any occurrence of horrible acting. I must add that this movie definitely refutes any doubts I had in my mind about the validity of Van’s acting skills.
-Setting and Costume: [3 out of 5] No major complaints but I still have to shave off one point for Van’s Zebra print suit.
-Video and Audio Quality [3 out of 5] I didn’t have to put my finger on the volume control, so that was a good thing.
-Soundtrack [2 out of 5] I liked the soundtrack better when people were not singing. As soon as the artists began to vocalize I was like WTF. I must admit it took me a while to realize the crappiness of their voice and what they were saying because I was blown away by the movie, but the singing was a load of bull [for lack of a better word]
Wow nice movie!
Just watched this, enjoyed it and had to come see what you gave the movie.
“Abdullahi…. Now, I want you back into your servant mode, I want you there for a minute”….I actually LOL at that. Soooo agree with you on Van, I was pleased, and could say “I told you he could act” to my friend. Where is he? Haven’t seen him in anything lately…..well, anything worth mentioning I mean. And please dont tell me he got into the USA-Nollywood/Ghallywood crapologies
haha once in a while, Van dey behave himself act proper for film. But, yes o, it saddens my heart to tell you (no, not really) that he seems to have resigned permanently to Nollywood USA lol jk.
He is in the upcoming movie Amina alongside Omotola, I think. I heard he has been doing some local ghanaian comedies as well as producing/directing his own movies? All in all he’s making a couple bad career choices right now…in my opinion
