Afam Okereke
Ruth Kadiri
-Story: [4 out of 5] I must say that for one of her first stories [I say one of because I am not a 100% certain that she has not done any other work] Ruth Kadiri, certainly outdid her self.
-Originality: [3 out of 5] In as much as this is not the first of it’s kind, Lady’s Men takes a different perspective on the issue of love as it concerns a romantic relationship between a man and a woman.
-Predictability: [3 out of 5] It is certainly not one of those movies that I predict and it works out just great… so to all those that intend on watching the first, last or middle 2 parts of the movie and believe that you will understand from there, my sincere advice is not to do it. Get it all, or don’t watch at all. [See what I did there, wow! I should get a degree in rhyming, don’t you think?]
-Directing/Editing: [3 out of 5] Afam did his thing in this movie. I had no cos for complaints, however, my only problem is with the editing. I believe that the names listed in the beginning of the movie is supposed to consist of the main characters or at least the popular ones. With that mentality, I was shocked that I did not see Queen Nwokoye’s name in the beginning. I understand that the editor was probably trying to save time, but it would have made sense for him to have listed Queen’s name in the opening titles as opposed to new names like Femi Adebayo.
-Acting quality: [2 out of 5] In as much as most of the people in this movie could hold their ground in the acting abilities arena, some of them [cough, cough Femi Adebayo] did not seem right whilst speaking. I don’t know if I say that simply because of his H-factor or just the way he talks. And the actress named, Nazzarreth Jesse could not act in the first half of the movie, I mean all she had going for her was the lace weave, then in the last half it was as though someone realized her lack of acting abilities, took her to acting school, and put her right back in the movie. I’d like to see consistency in Nigerian movies so I beg all future actors and actresses, make sure you can act before you become an actor. I can not leave this section without shouting out the new and hot actors in this movie, want to find out who they are? Then go watch the movie after which I beg you to come back and tell me if they were not some hotties in the movie. In other business…
-Setting and Costume: [2 out of 5] I did not understand what was up with Queen Nwokoye’s multi-colored hair. Don’t get me wrong, it was not crappy, it was just different and Queen was able to successfully work the hair-do so no complaints from me.
-Video and Audio Quality [2 out of 5] It was on point.
-Soundtrack [3 out of 5] This time around, I liked the song, it was not like one of those in which the musician could not sing, neither did it tell the story. It was great.
i actually liked this movie. it was awfully long but the way each character had a depth to them as well as their own unique behaviours that were relatable made it watch. It really gave the feeling of a documentary for the ladies watching and taking notes (in the movie).
Queen Nwokoye is a great actress. Her interpretation of that role was very classy. That hairstyle was Razz but she pulled it off in a beautiful way.Ienjoyed the movie especially the slap before the proposal.Lol.
