The movie ‘False Alarm’ has only two parts: false alarm part 1 and part 2. The movie is repackaged as FOR BETTER FOR WAR: hence, for better for war part 1 and part 2
Pascal Amanfo
-Story: [4 out of 5] I have heard a lot of things about Pascal Amanfo that make him appear as a pretty horrendous director with awfully stupid movies but on the contrary this movie was… an experience. In two parts, Pascal takes your mind and molds and molds it continuously and repeatedly until the very few last minutes of the movie. He releases it. Blows a little air out and literally blows the viewers mind. I was literally screaming at my screen with this movie, loved the story.
-Originality: [3 out of 5] You have probably seen something close to this before but not exactly. The lines of this movie might be ‘almost’ parallel to that of some other movie but it can never fit exactly on top of any other movie. That is all.
-Predictability: [4 out of 5] I had an emotional roller coaster with the predictability of the movie. You see, normally after 10 – 15 minutes of a movie, I have down a couple things I expect will happen. If they all happen then this movie looses all predictability points, if none of them happens then the movie is far from predictable but this movie gave me a run for my money. In the beginning, it played along. Yes! Martha was a slut. (SPOILER) Yes! Eddie’s wife was a harlot. But…. let’s just say you can’t predict it all.
-Directing/Editing: [4 out of 5] ***gets up from sit; stands and bows repeatedly*** I hail thee Pascal. An awesome job with the cinematography. There was absolutely no unnecessary scene. No overly prolonged scene. There was the right amount of drama, action, suspense and comic relief. I loved it!
-Acting Quality: [4 out of 5] Here’s something that one can hardly say for movies these days, “Everyone could act in this movie!”. There were some sporadic moments when Martha would erupt into a fit of over acting with her signature mind boring stare (even in unnecessary scenes) and her forceful walk that makes you feel pity for the ground beneath her feet. However, none of her ‘fits’ lasted long enough to actually deduct serious marks for them.
-Settings and Costumes: [4 out of 5] Great settings! Great costumes (…even Martha’s outfits)
-Video and Audio Quality [3 out of 5] Amazing.
-Soundtrack [4 out of 5] Bernie Anti should have ‘The Great’ appended to the end of his name because he is truly great. Like a mini A.R. Rahman in the making.
