Limpopo Chicks
Ruth Kadiri, Maureen Okpoko, Vincent Opurum, Juliet Mgborukwe,
Angela and Tonia are very good friends. Innocent Angela insisted that her father should take responsibility of Tonia. Tonia then turned out to be a pain in the neck in the family. Enjoy the movie.
This movie has four parts: Limpopo Chicks 1 & 2 and War For Limpopo 1 & 2

Acting
Overused storyline, Predictable, Costumes,
I have been informed that Limpopo is some kind of slang, which in fact means that the title of this movie may actually have some iota of sense to it, because there were no chicks from Limpopo nor was Limpopo ever mentioned in the film. I do need to go on a rant about Nigerian movie titles though, a good title is important for seducing people to even click on your trailer. I was again on the lookout for runs movie hence I saw this and assumed but not many people actually want to watch that and so miss out on good films.
It had a very unoriginal plot, one that has been in Nollywood since its beginning. It was slow and dull, causing me to distract myself with criticising the fashion of the movie rather than focus on what was happening. It had some very engaging minutes but those were only engaging because we made our own predictions and were proven wrong, which made it even worse. We weren’t expecting the movie to be so copy-copy and were waiting for it to distinguish itself from other films. It started off seeming like it would be going somewhere but soon disappointed. The first twenty minutes were actually intriguing and had some kind of emotion to it but it later lost that edge and went flat.
The acting was pretty average as well, with no greats but no bad either. I didn’t want anyone to get off my screen in a hurry but I didn’t want them to remain. Ruth Kadiri just pouted the whole film away and it felt so lacking because I have seen her in better roles. I have seen both Bella Ebinum and Maureen Okpoko before but always as average side characters and always in below average movies, and their acting was average here as well. At least this time they had a chance to shine. The award must go to Juliet Mgborukwe not only as best actress but also as best dressed in a film where the costumer must have had some kind of grudge against the actresses. Vincent Opurum was also quite good in it, his role did not call very anything strenuous or challenging. The actors did the most they could with such a common story and familiar characters.
The aforementioned costumes were nothing at all to write home about, it included jeans so deep that we actually could see beginning of someone’s crack, ridiculous accessories and very bad makeup. The directing and producing were satisfactory, although I did spot the shadow of the boom mike in several scenes.
In conclusion, this film was average and the story was so overdone, and it had four parts to add insult to injury. Come on Nollywood, you should know better. Either recycles plots creatively or not at all.
