If someone asked me to summarise this movie I wouldn’t be able to. I was so lost it’s not even funny. I am still lost. This has no head or tail and the worst part is that it had so much potential.
I had high hopes and the middle of the film was so genuinely scary I excused so many mistakes. It moved at a glacial pace but that only serves to increase the intensity and it genuinely created a sense of menacing horror. Looking back I can see that it was unintentional; because I cannot see the people that thought this up as having the know-how to do it. The movie set out the characters and had quite good plot elements up until it just dropped acid. I cannot, literally cannot find words to convey what happened because it makes no logical sense. Were they trying to be unpredictable? They certainly succeeded but abandoned all common sense in the process. The ‘twist’ didn’t make sense in itself and in the context of the film.
Increasing the sense of trickery were the reputable actors used. Chioma Chukwuka, Uche Jombo and Kalu Ikeagwu are a sign that a movie would be quality. And to a certain degree it was, the acting from the three was excellent and really sold that good parts of the film. It is possible they didn’t know the kind of film they were making, yes that’s the only explanation why seasoned actors would feature in this monstrosity. However the damage is done, I will be less trusting of them.
The setting was okay and the photography particularly stood out to me.The audio kept cutting out in some parts and in other parts the background music was so loud that it drowned out the dialogue. Other times it was used quite effectively but there were also sometimes where the musical score didn’t match what was happening on screen. The picture quality was not good at all and the lighting looked worn out at time. The sound effects were dodgy and the special effects were even worse, although I will admit that sometimes it was frightening. But the diagnosis is amateur.
In conclusion, I would recommend watching if you are curious enough to check out the nonsense it just devolved to. Otherwise avoid. Carry leg go.
