APPROXIMATELY 5 weeks ago, our favorite web series, Skinny Girl In Transit, returned on YouTube for its fourth season and no one could possibly have been more excited than we were. This season might as well be nicknamed the SEASON OF CHANGE what with the numerous changes and adjustments going on with the show (and we are not just talking about changes in sets o).
Thus far, there have been five episodes in the season and the season continues but before it does, here are our…
TOP 7 HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE SEASON THUS FAR:
#7: Wosilat
How did we manage to go three whole seasons while completely sleeping on the gem that is Wosii (aka Wosilat). Can we just blame this one on the writers? But for some reason Wosi has become more prominent in season 4 and one cannot help but notice how much skill the girl has. Wosilat is played by the actress Chioma Okoli and in Season 4 we get to see Wosi have more of a voice than ever before. This new voice has also heralded a lot of comedic moments: from her waiting up with ‘mummy’ to see if Mide proposed yet in S4E1, to her grabbing the ‘concoction’ that Tiwa was blending in the name of FitFam and pouring it all down the sink in a later episode.
#6 – Trading Jude Chukwuka for Nobert Young
That was how we were just jejely watching episode 2 of Skinny Girl when they skipped to a scene in the home with Norbert Young on the couch and Tiwa running to him calling him daddy. *Pause* Who is your daddy? Whatever happened to Jude Chukwuka? To be fair, we are still uncertain how we feel about this trade but if we are being completely honest, Jude’s character wasn’t on screen enough for him to be considered irreplaceable. In the last season, he was barely there if at all. So now that the actor has been changed, it will take a while to get used to but like all things in life, we’ll definitely get used to this too.
#5 – Abimbola Craig’s Weightloss Goals
So with each season review, we cannot help but mention how this skinny girl (Abimbola Craig) is truly and actually in transit. The girl is truly shedding the pounds and all these 3rd Mainland Bridge jogs that we see on the show might actually not all be for show. The transition in each season is a motivation to say the least, and it is definitely great getting to watch her transform on screen.
#4 – Helloooooo Obinna!
You can almost argue that every episode until episode 4 of this season was just an introduction.
The real drama began in episode 4! But before we get to all that drama we have to touch on the heavenly gift that was delivered to us in this episode, in the person of Asa’ah Samuel. You may remember Mr. Samuel from the web series 5IVE, but in season 4 he is introduced to us as the ever so hot boyfriend of Tiwa’s Ride or die chick – Didi. It has been 3 seasons since we have been hearing about our daarrrlllinnnngggg Obinna and now that we have seen him he was definitely worth the wait.
#3 – Mide Is Boyfriend Goals
So the jury is still out on whether or not our season 4 Mide is overpossessive or if he is just overprotective. Personally, I think unless he does something that leans more to the former later on in the season, my guy is solidly just boyfriend goals. I mean, in the first few episodes of this season, Mide and Tiwa will have you catching feelings all over the place – left right and center, just recklessly. It was almost the only thing that saw us through the otherwise less active first three episodes.
# 2 – Fabrice Is Back
That French demon has escaped the sanatorium. Who let him out? You may remember him from the previous season as our one night stand bobo. But our one night stand bobo has refused to stay solidly in his place – which is in the past. But instead he is making an appearance again in Tiwa’s life.
The most annoying tin sef be say the guy no come get basic common sense. If trouble dey left, and peace dey right, my guy dey go full speed ahead to the left. I have no hope that anything good is going to result from his return. Our only hope is that Tiwa hurries up and does the right thing by telling Mide about him.
#1 – Hadiza is out and Derinsola is in
…and Derin is making us miss Hadiza already. It’s like if Hadiza was your annoying little sister, Derinsola is the wicked witch of the west. Except she’s not just flying on brooms now, she has a motor powered engine and she reckless with that tin. When we realize that she dated Fabrice and they both broke up you wonder why because they seem perfect for each other – demon and demoness please get together and make your demon babies. The way she eyes Tiwa uppanddan when they first meet, is enough to have your blood boiling, and then when she proceeds to refer to Tiwa as a little too ‘plus’ makes you want to reach into the screen and twist that her yeye mouth.
Aaah! Well at least we got four episodes of peace y’all because I suspect that there will be fire on da mountain in the next few episodes.
