Tiwa and Mide decide to stay celibate until after the wedding, and Mama Tiwa moves to fortify her daughter with some anointed oil from Woli. Derin discovers the true identity of the man she encountered at the office.
Forgive us father, for we have sinned! But before we get to that, let’s start from the beginning
The episode starts with a high! The scene is dark and some very suggestive music is playing. Cut to our darling Tiwa wiggling in bed with her oga at the top (all pun intended). Then she wakes up and we find out that in the words of Nelly, “it was only just a dream”
And thus begins this edutainment + sexually liberated episode. With the beginning of this episode, we pick up from where we left off last week as we see how the couple’s decision to abstain is affecting one of them. Hats off to the writer for choosing to depict that from the female’s perspective as opposed to the stereotypical expectation which is that it would be only the man thinking and experiencing things like that.
But that’s not where the liberation rhetoric ended, cut to a few scenes later and we see Dede in conversation with Tiwa about her dream where she takes an arguably controversial stance. Dede goes on about how she doesn’t have dreams of this nature because she owns her sexuality and is unapologetic about it.
One of the most exciting things during the beginning of this episode was seeing Aunty Dupe back. However, that excitement was short lived because this wasn’t the usual empowered version of Aunty Dupe that we are used to. In this episode she was knocked down and sad after being told that she is not ‘qualified’ to adopt a kid partly because she was not married. To be fair, we expected this. We also expected the subsequent jab from mummy Tiwa. What we didn’t expect was the brief moment of support that Mummy Tiwa gave her sister, and we doubly did not expect to see Aunty Dupe stay ‘down’ throughout the scene. Where’s our firecracker? I guess even fire crackers occasionally need a recharge.

Save from these scenes, the rest of the episode was some of the usual Tiwa-Mide scenes and Mummy Tiwa ranting scenes alongside some neat expository scenes. We go back to Wosi and her keke-driver lover as we see him buying her ice-cream and trying to convince her to come out with him to a party. Come Wosi! I thought you were supposed to be studying for JAMB? Then there’s another single scene of Derin in a meeting with her brother, another staff member and our hot chocolate Kenyan from last week’s episode. We get some insight on his background and realize that he’s some hot-shot cooperate guy from Kenya by the name of Chris Kimani and we also realize, much to the chagrin of Derin, that he is here to stay. Ghen Ghen.
And then finally there was the last scene of this episode where Deyemi Okanlawon finally makes his appearance as young pastor striking in black #TensionThem. Were you wondering what we needed forgiveness from God for? It’s for the unholy thought of coveting a man of God that this scene creates.

Even though Deyemi has done multiple lover boy and bad boy scenes in the past, this is possibly the most attractive he has ever been. And no it’s not just because of that black on black ensemble he was sporting – even though he did look mighty dapper in it. It was because of his calm, his wisdom and his insight. When was the last time a nollywood pastor looked this cool? To top off the episode of edutainment, this final scene did much to increase awareness of pre-marital counseling and counseling as a whole. It not only helped get our favorite fake couple to ask some real questions, it also helped the audience see what counseling should be and what it entails.
At 30 minutes it was a shorter run time than last week and also a relatively slower paced episode with a few continuity issues but every week can’t be fire I guess. See you next week!
