The gruesome truth of his impending execution breaks the improbable link that a heartbroken Ph.D. student builds with an apparently cold blooded prisoner for her thesis, compelling her to face both her own issues and the injustice of the legal system.
A Tale Of Two First Dates is directed, written and produced by Ayomide Napson.
The twenty-six minutes short film is about Isabel, a disturbed Ph.D. student studying psychology, who speaks with James, an apparently tough prisoner, in a bleak prison waiting room. Notwithstanding their radically dissimilar backgrounds, they begin to connect as they dig into their pasts. While James tells his heartbreaking tale of getting retribution for his sister’s attack, Isabel discusses her ongoing divorce struggle. Tragically on the next visit, their bond is cut short when Isabel learns that James is set to be executed that very morning, underscoring the unfairness of justice and leaving Isabel heartbroken at the loss of a relationship that provided her with unexpected comfort. The introduction of a new, noisy prisoner highlights Isabel ongoing trauma and the harsh reality of the prison setting.
The cast features Sharon Rotimi as Isabel Adeleke and Sunkanmi Olowu as James Popoola.
The Executive producers are Ayomide Napson, Lotanna Attoh, Adesoji “BDS” Ojelade, Mutalib Adams and Boluwatife Jolaosho
A Tale Of Two First Dates released on 28th April.
