Private Enemy

Private Enemy has only part one.
Moses Inwang
-Story: [4 out of 5] Delightfully impeccable. The story carries you along with it scene for scene. I literally felt like “if you snooze you loose” so whenever I needed to get a drink of water, I did not care that the TV was right by the glass of water. I felt like the moment I used to turn from my seat, I had missed something so I kept on rewinding. This movie literally keeps you at the edge of your seat and keeps you guessing to the end. I don’t know if I was over thinking it, but in the opening scenes I just felt like the movie was bordering a bit on the classic novel “Wuthering Heights” with Tonto Dike playing the protagonist Heathcliff. You just have to watch and see.
-Originality: [4 out of 5] Na be onye? (Translation: In whose house). My question: For where is there another movie like this one. I believe this movie stands alone and is just simply delightful.
-Predictability: [5 out of 5] Dem born you? Na for where you want start to dey predict. Forgive me for using so much pidgin in this post but that just goes to show how excited I am about this movie and I can not wait for you to watch it and join in my excitement.
-Directing/Editing: [2 out of 5] Private enemy was not only directed by Moses Inwang, it was also produced and edited by the same man. For those who do not know, Mr. Inwang is also responsible for the movie Nollywood Hustlers, Chelsea and Ini Edo’s upcoming movies ‘The Damage Movies”. Before I start barraging his persona, I would like to establish some givens. It is given that this guy is truly talented and has mad skills I mean this movie is living proof. It is a given that Calabar/Akwa Ibom people are taking over the movie industry (first Emem Isong, now this). It is given that this movie has impeccable graphics and video style. However, it is also given that too much work loaded on one person will never lead to perfection. Now the only area that Mr. Inwang was misfortuned to goof was in the area of Editing. First goof: The mother in this family died whilst giving birth to Ruke. Ruke is now 18 years old meaning her mother has been dead for 18 years. However, when Ini was writing a letter to her dead mother she said “22 year memorial” and her letter had “16 year memorial” written in it. So that is a contradiction not only between what is said and what is meant, it is also a contradiction between what is written and what is said. Meanwhile when the mother was alive she cared for both Ese, her daughter, and Ejiro, her husband’s nephew like they were her own. However, when Tonto was speaking she said to Ese “you have known me now for 16 years”. Pardon me but let’s say that this mother has been taking care of them for a year before Ruke was born plus all the while Ruke was alive, that is at least 19 years and that’s pushing it with my estimations. Final goof was when Ini Edo stopped calling Mike Ezuruonye his character’s name which is “Bryan” and starts referring to him as Micheal…whoops
-Acting quality: [3 out of 5] It was amazing, even the new girl could act and I am just amazed daily on the amount and quality of raw talents being led into the industry daily. More grease to ya elbows fellas.
-Setting and Costume: [4 out of 5] On point.
-Video and Audio Quality [3 out of 5] Good
-Soundtrack [3 out of 5] There really wasn’t a soundtrack and in this case that made it even better.
Hi, you are doing a great job on your site. I am currently watching this movie and the first thing I just can not comprehend is why a family would have such a big pool in their home and yet none of them can swim. Who does that? I simply can not fathom such silliness because its like setting a death trap. If anyone falls into the pool mistakenly like the sister did, who will save who? I guess that must have been another mistake.
Haha! I didn’t even think about that but so true. Then again, you know how Africans can like to show off. You don’t want to go into the list of things in an African person’s house that has never been used and will probably never be used and will also never be thrown out
