Sinking Heart

-Story: [2 out of 5] It’s really good although it is more of a chick flick though. In as much as it’s been done before, it is a story that one actually might want to watch and would definitely be interested in seeing to the end although it does not keep you at the edge of your seat.
-Originality: [0 out of 5] The beginning of the movie surrounds three guys attempts to be on the winning side of a bet. A bet about who will get the girl. Now, I can recall about the three movies just off the top of my head with the same storyline. (One starring Stephanie Okereke, the other starring Rita Dominic and the last one starring Desmond Elliot). So for originality… let’s just say it’s not the first of it’s kind
-Predictability: [2 out of 5] You can’t exactly call this movie predictable per say. Because for one, how are you to know who will win the bet, secondly how do you know what the other two parts of the movie will be about. However, once they start off, we all know what will happen. Not a lot of suspense in this movie.
-Directing/Editing: [2 out of 5] Ah alright, I think whoever was coordinating the time in this movie does not know how a calendar works. So her boyfriend is to return in one year. In that one year, she dates 3 guys alright let’s say they break her heart by at least 3 weeks. And then one of the guy meets another girl starts talking to her for a year and then wants to get married to her that year. Turns out the other girl is the first girls cousin (stay with me) and they find out about the guy and plan for him. My estimate is the time that she talked to this guy plus the time her cousin talked to the guy equals about a year and at least a month. But I’m made to believe all this happened in one year so… I must be stupid
-Acting quality: [2 out of 5] Honestly, I think Nikki Samonas has potential to be great but she is not yet lead role material. She does not carry the character well. Not very convincing as an actress, more work needs to be done. In fact I think Martha can act better and is more of a lead role material than Nikki is.
-Setting and Costume: [3 out of 5] No problems, I actually liked the mens’ ties in the end. Or maybe it’s just my bias for red and black.
-Video and Audio Quality [3 out of 5] No glaring faults
-Soundtrack [1 out of 5] The soundtrack was not very amazing. I can’t place my finger on the annoying part but I think it was that the female singing could not sing at all. Please please please, Nollywood and Ghallywood, please screen singers for your soundtrack cos a crooked voice ain’t cute.
