Royal Madness
Browny Igboegwu, Jim Iyke, Jim Lawson, Majid Michel, Mandy Eze, Mercy Johnson, Olisadebe Chike, Rose Ofuzim
-Story: [3 out of 5] I loved the story so much that it was impossible to pause the movie. Do you know what that means for a movie that has 4 parts. That equals starvation o cos I would not stand up to get food, I was glued
-Originality: [3 out of 5] I have to say, Royal Madness was very original (for a royal movie and for a Nigerian movie as a whole)
-Predictability: [2 out of 5] The movie no fall hand for predictability because in as much as we knew they would live happily ever after, it was done in such a way that you know the end but you can’t wait to see how it happens
-Directing/Editing: [3 out of 5] Even though they recycled most of the cast of stubborn prince for Royal Madness (or is it the Royal Madness cast that was recycled for stubborn prince, I really hope it was the latter), the movie was still phenomenal.
-Acting Quality: [2 out of 5] I really liked the acting in this movie. Well almost all the acting in this movie except for the Ama character. The Ama character, if you remember is the same girl from Stubborn prince that was called Stephanie, and guess what she still can’t act. I think her acting was a lot more believable for me in scenes where she did not have to talk cos as soon as she opened her mouth she killed it. The ironic part is that the Ama character (on left) was the queen to be yet she could not act but the Chief-Maid’s character(on right) could act more than she could.
-Setting and Costume: [3 out of 5] It was generally on point except that I could not wrap my head around Mercy’s blue dress (the one shown in the trailer). Why were her boobs falling out of the dress? (Questions the world might never get an answer too). The royal palace in this movie, for once, actually looked convincing. All I have to say is please do not make a low budget movie when you have a high-budget script. Cut your coat according to your size. Funny side note though, Mandy was wearing the exact same earrings she had on in Stubborn Prince…
-Video and Audio Quality [3 out of 5] Great
-Soundtrack [1 out of 5] No no no! The guy had a Yoruba accent, so No! I have nothing against Yoruba Accents o, just that I shouldn’t hear it when you are singing.
