-Story: [3 out of 5] Love stories that take you along with them step by step and are a ride for the viewers as much as they are for the characters are specimens that are very rare in 21st century Nollywood. All we have these days are… well… not up to par. Movies like this one here are reflective of the good old Nollywood that we all fell in love with. The one with Genevieve Nnaji and Ramsey Noah, Stella Damascus and RMD. The Nollywood love story that we love.
-Originality: [2 out of 5] Not the first of its kind but even at that, I can not bring myself to mark down such an incredible movie because of originality.
-Predictability: [2 out of 5] This is not exactly one of the movies that you look to predict (maybe I’m just saying that because I was unable to predict it… hmph). However, it is very good
-Directing/Editing: [3 out of 5] By the looks of things, I am slowly and steadily falling in love with this Ugezu J. Ugezu guys, he is about to do to Tchidi Chikere what Tchidi Chikere did to Teco Benson (if you don’t get it then don’t bother trying). All his works that I have reviewed so far seem to be awe inspiring. However, something that is not awe inspiring is the gbagaun that was on my screen in part two of this movie. Austin what are you doing oh? On the screen, it said “Asaba (Nick Mum’s residence)”. Pardon me if I’m wrong (which I know I’m not but for decency sake though) but I could have sworn that’s not how that should go.
-Acting quality: [3 out of 5] I have heard a lot of comments about Michelle Ikegulu’s quality of acting and all I have to say is that she is not that bad. Hold on, don’t jump me yet! I mean, I have definitely seen a lot worse acts yet we all tolerate them but for some reason everyone is making a lot of noise as pertains to Michelle. Personally, I do not feel the energy vibrating off of her, I don’t get the vibe from her but she has potential if she works more on getting into character.
-Setting and Costume: [2 out of 5] Generally acceptable. There was this scene when Mercy recently got married that she was wearing some form of ankara traditional and she tied her hair with the material, let’s just say Mercy looked atypical. Besides that, the costume and setting was great.
-Video and Audio Quality [2 out of 5]On Point
-Soundtrack [2 out of 5] Generally, I loved the beats of the soundtrack. They (for lack of better grammar) hit a spot…lol. However, the girl who was singing the soundtrack for part one did not hit anything but my nerves with her localized voice. The music was improved in the part 2 but still…
