A Sting in a Tale
Majid Michel, Adjetey Anang, Lydia Forson, Doris Sackitey, Abeiku Acquah, Joselyn Dumas, David Oscar
Shirley Frimpong-Manso
-Story: [4 out of 5] It is a lovely and enjoyable, plus extremely hilarious storyline. Very deserving of its numerous awards
-Originality: [3 out of 5] This is definitely not the first movie about jobless Africans however, trust Shirley to put that Sparrow spin on events.
-Predictability: [3 out of 5] There really is no way that I would have predicted the ending, but yes! there are little details within the movie that anyone could and would have predicted
-Directing/Editing: [4 out of 5] Let’s just say that Shirley is not in the business of hand falling (she never disappoints). Some people seemed to think that the movie was too slow and not action packed or drama filled but I believe that the simplicity adds to its beauty
-Acting Quality: [4 out of 5] The combination of Adjetey and Majid in one movie is definitely one of the strong points of this movie. That is not to say that all the other people in the movie couldn’t act. They all did an outstanding job. Great delivery!!!
-Settings and Costumes: [3 out of 5] On Point! I love the entire Ghanaian scenery. Shirley brings Ghana to you with this movie
-Video and Audio Quality [3 out of 5]On point
-Soundtrack [4 out of 5] I loooovvvveee the soundtrack even though I have no clue what they were saying.
when i watched the movie, i understood why the movie took so many awards for sparrow productions. this story is not new but was repackaged from a different angle. thumps up to them. all characters were made up and costumed according to their status in life. in some movies, a poor job seeker will be wearing designer clothes hmmmmmmmmmmm.
lol #WelcomeToNollywood
so was not wrong just……………..
i love your reviews, at least i wont need to waste money to buy crap anymore. i decide based on ur reviews because you delivered in all movies you starred in. u know what u are talking about not just writing crap. thank you very much. more grease to your elbows.
Thanks a lot Anon, I appreciate it.
And uh to your statement “i decide based on ur reviews because you delivered in all movies you starred in”. I don’t act and I’m not an actress
so u are using someone’s picture
Yes! I am. Kate Henshaw is officially the face of NR for 2012.
2011 was Genevieve Nnaji.
Maybe next year it might be a Ghanaian, who knows?
lol…even me i don dey fear….
please could u put up a review for the movie across the niger.
I will search for it and review it!
LOL @ Mama and the girls. Let’s hope this is just a passing phase and it comes to an end soon (it ought to have ended “yesterday”).
Your review was definitely on point for this movie, which happens to be one of my favorite Shirley Frimpong-Manso movies. She knows her stuff! I wish Adjetey would act more, but he seems to be quite selective in the roles he plays and movies he chooses to act in. Of course Majid and Lydia did not disappoint either. Definitely a good movie.
