The Feast
Mercy Johnson, Beverly Naya, Mike Ezuruonye, Jibola Dabor, Solomon Akiyesi, Hakeem Rahman, Artus Frank
Unbelievable how money has taken over the control of our souls. A son plans and kills a father just to take over the empire the man suffered all his life to build. It backfires when a wife sees beyond the riches, she is in love with her husband’s younger brother and swore to expose every single step her husband takes. She has every valuable information to expose her husband. Will he let her go to the younger brother to avoid exposing him or will he fight to keep his wife and his name. Find out….
“The war may have been over but the battle is still raging on!!!”
The movie, the feast, is divided into four parts: The Feast Part 1-4. Do note that in some parts, the sequel to the feast is called THE KING’S WILL. Hence: The feast part 1 and 2 then the king’s will part 1 and part 2

-Story: [3 out of 5] Although this was a long, I mean really really long movie, it had a story. The story was quite entertaining, I don’t think this is one of the movies that one hits their head after the end of the four parts and thinks “I’ve just wasted 5hrs of my life”.
-Originality: [1 out of 5] This is not the first movie where people connive to assassinate the king, neither is it the first story where two princes fight for their father’s throne but it’s definitely the first story that has both elements plus a chess master controlling every move.
-Predictability: [2 out of 5] For the most part, the movie was not predictable at least not for me. It did not end in the most cliche possible manner but with the little things it was intensely predictable. Like for instance, It is kind of the most predictable thing that an actor will die within the first few minutes of the movie when he is a ‘no-name’ actor acting in a major role like that of the king.
-Directing/Editing: [1 out of 5] Alright so whoever was responsible for shooting the horse-riding scene with Mercy and Artus should be fired. The cameraman was just zooming in and out of the scene at random for no reason whatsoever, F on cinematography. Speaking of that scene, I have to say that that was probably the most awkward scene in the movie. Two things are possible in my opinion, either Artus Frank and Mercy Johnson have zero on screen chemistry or the director failed at directing. And dear editor, Mercy Johnson’s name is spelled like so… not Mercy ‘Jonson’ you made this mistake in all four parts, ki lo de? Are you blind? Whilst we are on the topic, ‘Guards’ is spelled as such and not ‘gards’ and Nicholas has an h and not a k.
-Acting Quality: [1 out of 5] 75% of the people in this movie can’t speak English and ironically most of the lines require a good command of the English language of which it seems only Mike and, to a certain extent, Jibola, could deliver. Out of that 75%, 50% can’t act. In other words, more than 2 people out of every four in the movie can’t act. Please screen your extras, even if they have the tiniest roles at least let them know how to act (and how to speak English). Artus, on the other hand really needs to learn English. What the heck is wrong with his tongue? Is it that he can’t pronounce the words? On another note, Mike has been acting all these shitty roles in shitty movies (i.e No Game) that one might actually begin to forget that he is a talented actor. Solomon Akiyesi was mind blowing. I am really excited about his career growth and he has come very very far in it and unlike many others, he is growing from strength to strength. His performance in this movie was so convincing that I wanted to jump through the screen and help Mercy strangle him. From Omotola’s good husband to the sniper in The feast, Solomon is definitely versatile. In conclusion, Beverly Naya needs to go to acting school.
Yes I realize that this paragraph is particularly long but I can not end it without giving props to Jibola Dabor. It seems that whenever he is not busy playing the role of an incestuous father, he is a very talented actor.
-Settings and Costumes: [4 out of 5] ALL the costumes, I mean every single costume in this movie was amazing, from the outfit of the royal guards to the king’s attire everything was top notch. Big ups, infact no, enormous ups to Chiemela Nwagboso for an outstanding work, the only person whose outfits I didn’t understand at any point was Beverly Naya, besides that everyone was gorgeous. Mercy Johnson was actually decked in a ‘saree/sari’ (as seen on the left), which I find quite amusing since she has big boobs. It was even more amusing that in the scene where she wore the saree, a sort of indian music was playing in the background lol. Still lovely though. And Sele O. Sele did an amazingly outstanding job with the set. Even the streets that were chosen were top notch. The setting and costumes were RAA standard.
-Video and Audio Quality [2 out of 5] Audio goes up and down occasionally.
-Soundtrack [1 out of 5] Good beats. Shaky lyrics. The music overlay literally sucks. In my opinion, all the horseback riding scenes should have been muted and glazed over with music but No! All I hear is Artus saying a bunch of inconsequential B.S (Bright Side)
From the movie review, I think this movie isn’t as good as the costume. Its so obvious that mercy wanted 2 make a top notch movie. My criticism will be limited because many directors, actors and producers didn’t step a foot into the university or studied acting courses and they didn’t even go to Film school either.
