-Story: [3 out of 5] It’s a really good ‘sunday-after-church’ movie. It’s entertaining enough
-Originality: [1 out of 5] Even though the movie seems like some sort of a ‘For the Promise’ (Tonto and Sam) meets ‘A Cry for Help’ (Nkiru and Clems), it still has it’s own bits of originality mixed in
-Predictability: [0 out of 5] Like I had said before, cute feel good movies usually have the added disadvantage of being predictable. It’s an appendage they can’t get rid of
-Directing/Editing: [2 out of 5] Before anything, I’ll like to point out that the reason that I classified this movie as a musical because it is one of those movies where the actress/actor begin to sing suddenly and an obviously different voice is dubbed over theirs and instrumentals sounds come from nowhere. Speaking, however, of dubbing, the lip syncing in this movie was very horrible. The sound comes out first before the music comes out. The cinematography in this movie was pretty crappy. One can argue successfully that the continuity was shaky in this movie.
-Acting Quality: [3 out of 5] Outstanding performance from Mercy Johnson. Literally breathe taking and beyond convincing. However, some of the extras couldn’t act. Notice I say some because some actually could act.
-Settings and Costumes: [2 out of 5] The setting was great however there were some questionable choices in the choice of costumes for some cast members.
-Video and Audio Quality [1 out of 5] The video was pretty weak and sometimes you need to keep your hand on the volume control in case of sudden volume changes.
-Soundtrack [1 out of 5] There were two basic soundtracks: an igbo one and a pidgin one. The igbo one was basically on point but the pidgin one sounded like something out of a Mr. Ibu movie.
