Where Love Lies
Jim Iyke, Ini Edo, Tonto Dikeh, Amaechi Muonagor, Ali Nuhu, Ugezu J. Ugezu, Chika Ihekweaba, Joy Helen, Ken Erics
The head princess, Ini Edo, has grown up abhoring the poor since the death of her mother the queen. Her sister, Tonto Dikeh, however does not share in this trait. In fact, she goes ahead to fall in love with a poor and jobless village boy, Jim Iyke. Imagine the head princess's terror when she finds out. She then makes it her life mission to end her sister's relationships whilst she, Ini Edo, pursues her relationship with a 'suitable suitor' who really is a drug peddler. How does the drama end? Find out in this long Nollywood movie.
The movie, Where Love Lies, is divided into four parts. Where Love Lies 1-4. In some areas, the parts are... Where Love Lies part one and part two and then Royal Desire part 1 and part 2.

-Story: [3 out of 5] The first two parts of the movie was all romantic with Tonto and Jim and Drama and love and princesses and kings and evil sisters and… Ali Nuhu? However, at the end of part two (after I had sat through 150 minutes of the movie). I looked on my table and there was a part 3 and 4 too? What? How do you guys seriously not just end the movie after 150 prolonged minutes. Even if na avatar… what? The other parts started off slow and redundant and I almost fastforwarded from scene to scene (You know… watch the first few seconds of the scene. Get the gist. Move on to the next one) however, I persevered and I really liked part 4. What am I trying to say? Hang in there for this movie, even if it takes you a whole year to complete it like it did me, just hang in there.
-Originality: [1 out of 5] The first two parts are on the opposite side of original. Not on the end end but very near to the end of the opposite side (if that makes any sense lol). The part 3 and the kingship tussle was a bit overdone in my opinion. I’m tired of people fighting for crowns, it’s getting a little too old for my liking. However, there are little aspects of this movie that are pleasantly different like the queen mother who comes up from the grave to advise her children, and the rasta fara soothsayer as opposed to the conventional “Baba Alawo”.
-Predictability: [2 out of 5] For me, I’d have to say that the predictability was a little bit in between. If the movie had ended after part 2 then YES! It would be beyond predictable but part 3 and 4 added a little spice that brought it up a little bit.
-Directing/Editing: [3 out of 5] Nothing mega other than the need to make your movies shorter cos nobody has that long of an attention span (especially for a Nigerian movie. We don’t dedicate days for movies)
-Acting quality: [2 out of 5] Ugezu J. Ugezu, aka the guy in the video embedded on top, was hilarious with all his snide comments and side comments and comments in igbo and just general razzness. Doesn’t take away from the fact that he needs to learn how to properly enunciate English words (the letters ‘ch’ together in a word sound like such and not as ‘sh’ so it’s not reash it’s reach… Just saying). Extra’s can’t act and….. Ali Nuhu? When he was just being a guard I was cool with it but when he started *SPOILER ALERT* getting all romantic with Ini, I couldn’t help but wish they’d cast Mike Ezuruonye instead. Just imagine how amazing the role would have been with Mike…. just imagine. Good to see Ken Erics again!
-Setting and Costume: [3 out of 5] LOVED! Absolutely loved the Costumes and the settings. Job well done! However, I do strongly suggest and believe that seeing as Jim Iyke’s boobs keep increasing, maybe he should consider wearing less tight shirts and maybe bigger tees (just saying)
-Video and Audio Quality [3 out of 5] On point
-Soundtrack [3 out of 5] Could have been greater. But not half bad.
hi NR,
I must say more grease to ur elbow….As for the movie above, it was too damn long! it was ok, though i felt it could have been wrapped up in 2 parts. as for when ali nuhu and ini edo started their romance I fast forwarded through all those scenes as they had a gagging influence on me! lol! I would have preferred if ken erics was cast in that role. i’m not a fan of ali as i find him a bore to watch, at least he’s better than biola ige!
anyway….thanks for all the reviews so far…on the look out for “from within”…
No need to tell me twice as soon as they started their Romeo and Juliet I kukuma fastforwarded the thing… Aww thanks a lot, and From Within was pretty ‘sweet’.
