After loosing his wife Kenneth Okonkwo's character is left with his two daughters and two male servants. His sister, Ebele Okaro, feels like he needs a wife or at the least a nanny. He has been in many unyielding relationships and decides to hire a nanny as that is the more realistic option. He hires Jennifer Eliogu, a seeming 'orphan' recommended by his sister. He finally finds the girl he wants to settle with and then everything seems to be going wrong. Jennifer, who was at once a dedicated servant, is constantly receiving secret letters and sneaking out at odd hours neglecting his daughters. Meanwhile, his fiancee seems more concerned with her modeling career than with him. What is Jennifer up to? What will happen to Ken and his girls? Find out in this movie...

-Story: [4 out of 5] Immaculate (I can’t remember when last I described a movie’s story as so but it was a really interesting watch not to mention that it was simple and straight to the point. 2 parts only. I could get used to that.) This is a NIGERIAN MOVIE like we used to know it. One of the things I love most about this movie is the occasional outbursts in traditional languages. Proudly African.
-Originality: [2 out of 5] Not the most original thing ever. You have probably seen the character played by Ken a million and one times before (old nollywood only) but the Jennifer Eliogu’s character twist was great and a bit different.
-Predictability: [0 out of 5] Did I see the end coming? Yes! From the first scene but what happens in the middle of this movie is really what counts.
-Directing/Editing: [3 out of 5] I really had no major problem with the directing and editing and I do not add so much importance to the flaw that I am about to state hence the reason I deduct no point for it. In the scene where the little girl is starting her period she cleans her privates. Pulls Tissue out and supposedly sees blood and starts screaming. But… (I’m pretty certain about this cos I rewinded and paused this like 5 times)… there was no blood on the tissue? Nothing! It wasn’t red. It wasn’t wet. The girl just wasted tissue.
-Acting quality: [2 out of 5] Before I say anything else, I’d like to say… PAUL SAMBO BABYYYY! We need to see him on our screens more often. Now, all the extras in this movie could not act especially all the PTA extras. The eldest daughter’s acting was not natural (no I don’t go easy on kids. It’s the 21st century, 10 year olds are making history). Ken’s first girlfriend was easy on the eyes, articulate, but unnatural. Jennifer Eliogu produced this movie. Didn’t know she produced movies and I must say that her movies are almost as good as Ruth Kadiri’s. Jennifer is an amazing actress. Breathtaking skills and ki ni ko ki ni ko…. but…..Imagine if Mercy Johnson had played her role? Just imagine….I’d have to say that one of the best examples of true acting in this movie was with the gateman. When he was acting I thought he was just an Hausa man doing the Hausa man gateman role (“Why I dey talk to me like that, abi I no know say I senior you…. I dey mad?) but in the end credits it showed his name as Emeka Anwuluorah. Meaning he is an igbo boy, hence, unless he grew up in the north then he is a natural.
-Setting and Costume: [3 out of 5] Great job and prop on the props especially the final scene where they actually had a full out party for the wedding scene as opposed to the normal Naija movie where we just gather all the actors, buy the bride a ridiculous looking wedding gown and the guy a cheap tux. They take pictures and say… “To God be the Glory” or “In God we Trust”
-Video and Audio Quality [3 out of 5] Great video and audio quality
-Soundtrack [1 out of 5] The soundtrack for this movie is basically a medley of American songs. I personally am not the biggest fan of using an American song in a movie especially since I know that the artists are not getting paid their dues. And when they actually had original music, it was just… terrible.
aww i loved the movie..kinda made me cry..when rose was talking bout her parents, i guess you dont knw wat u ve till u lose it.
I think like Kenneth, I’ll prefer a more educated nanny too. But it depends on other things too.
Sounds like an OK movie.
