Fulton Mansion
Stephanie Okereke, Ini Edo, Yul Edochie, Cha-Cha Eke, Patience Ozokwor, Jibola Dabor, Ime Bishop Umoh, Olisadebe Chike, Eve Esin
A poor illiterate discovered as a model from the street has to move into fulton mansion. The life she knew was the thing of the past and now she has to battle with other models in the mansion to win the competition. An over night fame that comes with challenges, can she fit in?
Ime Bishop Umoh to Stephanie Okereke:
“See this girl way God create in the image of Javelin. Maybe there was olympic game in heaven… just… just because… because… I no know wetin you even eat sef. Dey accelerate. Dey tall. Dey fine any how. Dey confuse person”
The sequel to Fulton Mansion is called “One Night Queen”. The movie has four parts: Fulton Mansion 1 & 2; One Night Queen 1 & 2.

-Story: [2 out of 5] The first two parts of this movie were like your typical Uche Nancy storyline in that it teaches no moral whatsoever and are just entertainment for entertainments own sake. Nothing wrong with that, it’s a leave your brain behind movie because if you don’t leave your brain behind you’ll spend the entire movie questioning the possibility of the events that occur… (how likely is it that these girls are any where near models? No offense but Ini Edo? Seriously? They might have at least tried to put other modelesque females in the house other than Stephanie). So if you are looking for a movie to just pass the time and have some laughs then the first two parts (i.e Fulton Mansion) is the movie for you. However, I did not see how the sequel to this movie was essential. The movie could have just ended in peace… Is it too much to ask for a movie that finishes after 2 hours? Not to mention how overly prolonged…mba… how unnecessarily overly prolonged ‘One Night Queen’ was.
-Originality: [1 out of 5] Asides from “the Models” (by the same producer and a movie that came after this one), I don’t recall any other Nigerian movie that deals specifically with models. The whole in house, Big Brother aspect of the movie really excited me and if it was done well it would have been an immaculate movie. (I mean wouldn’t it be amazing if a Big Brother kind of movie was done in Nollywood but not just done but done well?). The little aspects and motifs are the usual recurring motifs (/almost morales) in Nollywood movies.
-Predictability: [0 out of 5] I saw the end coming…. for fulton mansion. And imagine my shock when I found out there was a sequel? I’d say the only unpredictable aspect of this movie was the fact that it’d have a sequel. Because Fulton Mansion ended well… what else are you sequeling?
-Directing/Production: [1 out of 5] Granted, no movie that has up to four parts can get anything higher than a 3 on production in my books. Because if you can’t cut things up or get to the point, then you have already set yourself up for failure. Needless to mention the overly prolonged scenes (even in the embedded video above. Tell me who needed to see the Niger bridge and all those cars on the road or all the girls cramped into that bus. Give us a hint of about 5 seconds and move the heck on… stop wasting time). And my next problem is in casting… I believe that if you are going to make a movie about models, granted the popular actors might not look like models, but at least let the extras without any speaking role look like extras. Go to a modelling agency. Borrow their girls for a few shots… anything worth doing is worth doing well. And whose crazy idea was it to append a sequel to this movie? Have thee no sense of “enough is enough… don’t push your luck”?
-Acting quality: [3 out of 5] Besides most of the girls forced accents, I didn’t notice any major acting flaws. Stephanie executed her role to the tee. I was super excited to see Patience in a non-evil role (haven’t seen her in a non-evil role since that movie she acted with Sandra Achums in which she was an old lady on a wheel chair and Sandra basically dealt with her). Ini Edo did the Ini Edo thing. Can never get tired of seeing Yul on screen. Guest appearance by Ime Bishop Umoh. Olisadebe is still as horrid as ever (well not really, he is a little better now but still horrid). Eve Esin in the (what has become known as) the typical Eve Esin role. First time I ever saw Charity (chacha) Eke on screen was in this movie and she did something for me. She just popped too much from the background to be forgotten. Executed the spoilt girl role without fault, some times however it did seem over the top. Jibola o dear Dabor, when will you stop being a man-shawo (i.e a fusion of a man and an ashawo if that wasn’t obvious).. regardless, do you… I still lurv you.
-Setting: [2 out of 5] Adequate but the set of the Ms Nigeria could definitely do with some work… looked more like the setting of Miss Ikeja
-Costume/Make-Up: [2 out of 5] Hmm.. let me not go into too much details but I have to ask… what was up with Eve Esin wearing a bra and a see through scarf in this movie (and wearing a bra basically every other scene? Exaggerate?)… embrace clothing… stop going nude abeg.
-Props and Graphics: [3 out of 5] Ok
-Video Quality: [2.5 out of 5] Ok
-Audio Quality [3 out of 5] Ok
-Soundtrack: [3.5 out of 5] Mr. Erowele did his things. Lyrics and video/song above
-Musical Score: [3 out of 5] Nicely done
Look at my eyes and see the world
The way we are the way we live
We say hello and how are you
And then walk on by
But deep inside the hearts of men
It’s a dark and lonely dream
And no one seems to hear you scream
They just walk on by
Chorus:
Oh stay…
…and tell me if you can see the light
Go fade…
…away into the night
(fade into the night)
The pain…
…is killing me I can’t take the fight
The shame…
…oh I’m losing my mind
(O yeah…oh…)
Here we are it’s another day
Here comes the rain. Here comes the pain.
Some things we just can’t comprehend
That can make you cry
It’s a twist and turn. It’s the joy and pain
The things the heart can not control
The things you love you cannot hold
And it makes you cry
You are doing a nice job, that is it most of these actreses think going nude can make them popular how sad, being natural is so good
