-Story: [2 out of 5] I actually really liked the story. In the beginning there are a lot of sub stories that most other movies would leave incomplete and undeveloped but the stories all tied together in this movie to give it a ‘happy ending’. Speaking of endings, the ending of this movie is a 20 minute fashion show starring Mercy Johnson(Ms. Versatile), Michael Godson (who by the way is suddenly ridiculously hot), some gay looking actor guy who I no longer recall his name (not like I ever knew it), Angela Okorie (props to this lady), and Cha-Cha Eke (my mini fashionista). This is one of those movies that you want to buy and watch over and over again. Mercy Johnson’s character was hi-la-rious! Literally made me slap my forehead over and over again
-Originality: [2 out of 5] For a second there I thought, “Hmm… this movie might just be like ‘Fulton Mansion’. (You know the one starring Yul Edochie, Ini Edo, Patience Ozokwor, Stephanie Okereke and Cha-Cha Eke in her break-out role)” but it was nothing like that. In fact it never got to be like that. Just when I thought it was going to be like that (i.e the last 20 minutes of the movie) it ended.
-Predictability: [2 out of 5] Even though the movie gives you a run for your money, at certain extents it is in fact predictable. But for the most part it wasn’t (***SPOILER ALERT**** I for one would never have predicted that Mercy would dump Seun Akindele in the end, I expected she’d keep with the ‘happy ending’ vibe and take him back but instead…. she didn’t. Who says no to Seun…. like… who? Another thing I didn’t predict was definitely UK killing her friend… I thought that was unnecessary but considering that that was the only way to send her to jail, it was needed)
-Directing/Editing: [0.5 out of 5] Somebody should please check, $100 says that the editor of this movie was sleeping on duty how else do you explain all the grammatical errors in the movie. From the cast and crew listing to within the movie itself a lot of things were not spelled right. By the way, ‘Silver Lining’ is spelled as so and not like ‘Silver Linning’ <—even my computer puts in a red swirly line under it. The camera man is well…. not so great. The camera was shaking in some scenes, he randomly decides to zoom in and out at random moments. By the way, did they seriously compose a song to sell cupcakes? Forgive me for thinking they’d stand a better chance selling gala to the gatemen and okada men on the streets.
-Acting Quality: [2 out of 5] For once I feel compelled to address every single act in the acting session. First Mercy Johnson, Ms. Versatile, on screen you utterly forget that the person acting is Mercy Johnson as in ‘The Mercy Johnson’ she carries the role from scene to scene thoroughly well, she never breaks act. One of the best acts to come out of Nigeria and Africa as a whole since forever. Eucharia Anunobi, some people absolutely hate Aunty UK for some reason, well those people can keep on sipping on that haterade for all that I care. All I wish is that she would be offered different and more versatile roles apart from the evil oriented witch she always plays. Chacha Eke, I absolutely love her. She knows it, I know it (well, I don’t know if you know it but now you do) from the first time I saw her in Fulton Mansion (the first thing I noticed was her hair which might I add is always amazing no matter what she does). She has such magnificent screen presence. From scene to scene she lights up the screen. Angela Okorie, in the movie ‘beauty’ I had serious doubts but she has proven me wrong. I can’t type anymore but this movie had a great cast. I do admit that some of the extras couldn’t act but they were not permitted to speak for longer than 2 minutes thereby making their talent, or lack thereof excusable. Before I finish…. I thought models were supposed to be skinny though
-Settings and Costumes: [3 out of 5] You can argue that Uche Nancy is not exactly the best producer in town but you can’t contend her wardrobe skills. I mean this chica is like the Manish Malhotra of Nollywood (if you don’t know who Manish Malhotra is please don’t embarass yourself by asking me, embrace google lol). However, as regards the sets…. permit me to say that a long bench and a fan does not constitute a changing room. In fact it wasn’t even a long bench, it was a dining table that all the so called ‘models’ had to sit on. Who created the set? The person should be fired o. And who is the person responsible for giving Ken Erics a camcorder to interview Eucharia? He is supposed to be a high end interviewer and he is shooting with a camcorder, he wasn’t even holding it right.
-Video and Audio Quality [2 out of 5] The audio falters at some points and the camera was randomly zooming in and out at weird sections.
-Soundtrack [2 out of 5] Liked the music.

Well, at this point, I’d like to reemphasize the purpose of Nollywood REinvented. This is a movie review platform. The only things dealt with here are movie reviews, the only time I speak of actors is when I’m referring to their roles. I know nothing about their personal lives (at least none that I’m willing to share here).
NR does not promote events. NR does not promote nollywood news. And NR most definitely does not promote Nollywood gossip. Check linda ikeji’s blog
Ooookkkkk, thats it. Out of the mouth of the babe!!! Lindaikeji is officially a tatafo. LOL.
But seriously, you keep on doing what you know how to do best. And people, it’s a movies reviewing site. We don’t want to hear about who is doing who; but we won’t mind to know who is taking acting lessons however (so we can encourage them, you know). I know I can mention quite a few that need it. And we don’t need to know who you hate personally either. Hate him / her in the movie and we are very ok with that. Lets try and keep to the movies, script writing, directing, music scores and props.
NR Carry go PLEASE.
Haha, yes by all means o… if them dey take acting lessons they should make it known abeg lol
Showbiz is not for everyone indeed
My Dear.. very well said. I was still saying this couple of days ago, when the time comes, no kid of mine should even think about it.
I’m telling you. I believe you need to establish yourself first before anything else. Hold degree for hand and then you can go and model your life away… at least you’d have a back up plan
