An interesting attempt at a not so typical Nollywood genre
It still falls short
-Story: [2 out of 5] It’s one thing to have a good story, it’s another thing to hold my attention long enough for me to realize that you have a good story line. Truth be told, most people do not have the patience to wait till part two for the movie to start. The movie just drags for two long before anything concrete begins to happen. But when it eventually does, it’s an interesting storyline. It’s up to you (the viewer), however, to decide whether or not you want to watch 100mins of film for 25-30 minutes of real action time… you decide
-Originality: [3 out of 5] Comme ci comme ca
-Predictability: [3 out of 5] I don’t even know what you think you want to come and predict in this movie. You have to at least have an inkling of what a movie is about before you say you want to come and predict it, and as the storyline of this movie does not surface till the last couple of minutes, there’s honestly nothing to predict.
-Directing/Editing: [2 out of 5] I still don’t understand why Austin Faani’s cameras always seem to be zooming left right and center. Nwoke’m biko (my guy, please) find a target and stay there. I can’t wrap my head around all the zooming and quite frankly it’s headache inducing
-Acting quality: [2 out of 5] Two reasons to watch this movie; and they are called Mike Ezuruonye and Empress Njamah. 1 other reason might be Pope Jnr. And if to say we wan reach that side and if we absolutely must then a third reason would have to be Chacha Ekeh. Apart from that…. eh! I guess Tammy Opusunji was ok but he has this amazing capacity of irritating me with his confusing emotions. Ese Brodricks. I’m not certain who is more torturous nowadays, Ese or Onyi Alex… Nah! Sorry, I apologize to Ms. Brodricks, no one could possibly be as torturous as Ms. Alex
-Setting: [3 out of 5] Ok
-Costume/Make-Up: [2 out of 5] I felt like Chacha’s outfit (Jewelry especially) were outrageous… In my head atleast, I am aware that some consider this fashion. And. That. Eyeshadow? POW! Kai, neon no be say go come. If the aim was to make Empress stand out, then mission accomplished
-Props and Graphics: [3 out of 5] Not bad
-Video Quality: [3 out of 5] Good
-Audio Quality [3 out of 5] Well done
-Soundtrack: [3 out of 5] Same as in King’s Cult… but generally good
-Musical Score: [3 out of 5] Fair
