I have never laughed so hard before in my life. In fact three days after I have watched it, thinking of this film sends me into uncontrollable laughter. I forced my whole family to watch this film and the responses were equally as amused. You see this is most shameless copy-and-paste job I have ever seen. We have now entered the territory where Nigerian movies are so bad-its-good, so congrats!
If you have seen the TV show ‘Charmed’ then the plot is exactly the same, if you haven’t it makes no sense at all. As a ‘Charmed’ remake/Nigerian clone, it is hilarious watching them trying to translate something that is a totally different culture into our own culture and failing woefully. As a normal film judged on its own merit, the plot was nonsensical, slow-moving and tedious to watch. The ending was made particular shocking with adding God to it, because it did not make sense in the context of the film. The scenes ran for too long sometimes and lacked energy, the story slowly limping on to make four parts.
The acting was commendable on the parts of everyone that had to say ROBOCOBOCABASH without laughing. Oge Okoye and Angela Okorie were able to power through the film but the last sister was horrible, dead behind the eyes with no intonation in her voice. The demons were also good, quite enjoyable to watch especially Robocobocabash. The extras were not bad although no one stuck out to me. I will say this; one sex scene was too long
The special effects were …different. It was a mixed bag of really really impressive and very very lame. The costuming was on point with effects done spectacularly, on the other hand the props were so lame and amateurish for example they were reading a blank book. The soundtrack was a whole different bag of bones apart from a very liberal use of Enya; it was catchy but so cheesy. God, so so cheesy. And at times it was too loud meaning we had to strain to hear what the characters were saying. However kind of award should go to the opening song because it was so catchy and bubbly
In conclusion, if you have intimate knowledge of Charmed or even Google it, you will enjoy watching it especially if you play spot-the-character. If you do not wish to know, then don’t bother, you will only get angry at how nonsensical it is. this is written, acted and produced by one person leading me to believe that this is just fanfiction, really really bad fanfiction.
4 parts? No thanks
I have to say though Mimi, you are extremely hilarious. You had me cracking from start to finish and I do not doubt the uselessness of this movie 🙂
