Showmax excitedly unveils the poster and trailer of their original TV series, Agu. The series will be released on the 14th of December 2023 and shown on Showmax.
The Showmax Original, Agu is a six episode legal drama TV series that explores the lives of three key characters who find themselves entangled in a murder case. It explores the lives of three key characters – Etim (Kanayo O. Kanayo), Pius (Nonso Odogwu) and Victoria (Ruby Okezie) as they find themselves embroiled in a court case involving the murder of Jonathan, a close friend of Pius. The plot synopsis reads:
Etim is a 50 year old, well read lawyer who is down on his luck and struggling with his career, not to mention an alcohol problem. After crossing paths with Pius, a believer in traditional worship who is accused of killing his friend in a forest. Etim jumps on the case as a chance to revive his dying career, going head to head with his ambitious prosecuting counsel, Victoria, with whom he shares a complicated history.
However, nothing is as it seems on the case, and as the trial unfolds, the series sheds light on the characters’ complex relationships and dark secrets, while also exploring the struggle between belief systems.
From the synopsis, this series revolves around law, mental health, rivalry and a sparkle of the supernatural. Kanayo O. Kanayo had something to say about the series.
