-Originality: [3 out of 5] Regardless of the fact that it is another widow story, Timeless Passion is a different kind of widow story from the typical ones we get. As opposed to having the woman shave her head and drink the dirty water and the likes, this one is centered on the woman’s attempt to escape versus her in-laws trying to take advantage of the situation (I hope I did not just give the story away)
-Predictability: [3 out of 5] Timeless passion is definitely not the predictable kind at least not from part one.
-Directing/Editing: [1 out of 5] This is the first RAA (royal arts academy) movie that I actually have a complaint in the Directing/Editing section. For instance, there was this scene in which Uche Jombo is speaking to Chisom Oz-Lee in front of a car. When Chisom walks to Uche, she is carrying her purse on her lower arm in a position very similar to the woman on the left. One second later (without the viewer seeing any movement on Chisom’s part) the purse switches positions to right on her shoulders like the woman on the right. The next second, the movie moved back to the previous position on the lower arm (like the left) and then again to the right. And all this is just happening without any movement on the part of Chisom. At first I thought she was carrying two purses but then I looked closer and she really wasn’t. Well the only other explanation I have for this is one word: MAGIC. My second complaint now. Uru Eke has a british accent. Through out the movie, everyone’s talking about return to the UK and then all of a sudden, Monalisa says to Ramsey, “You can come with us to the states” The States? But I thought… I thought… oh!
-Acting Quality: [2 out of 5] This movie has an array of amazing acts. However, I am not convinced that Chisom Oz-Lee can act. In my opinion, she does better work behind the camera than in front.
-Settings and Costumes: [3 out of 5] Good
-Video and Audio Quality [1 out of 5] The mouth moves after the sound comes out. And this is one of those movies where you have to leave your hand on the volume controls
-Soundtrack [3 out of 5] Lovely
Ha! You really deceived me with this review. After I saw your review, I went and bought it. Haba! This is more like a 4/10 movie joor. Rubbish story. Was the whole angel angle necessary?
Haba! Ewoo… ekpele, I guess everyone has their own opinions. I thought the angel angle was something different. Then again you also have to consider that it was a two part movie, so there really isn’t that much time to create a thickened plot. They have to get to it.
I liked the angel twist though, and I’m really sorry that you didn’t like the movie. Ekpele or should I say Ndo o…lol
U r so right, Desmond’s directing not good enough. He’ll get there but he needs to calm down and work on smaller projects. He’s bringing down the reputation of Emem Isong. Anytime I see an Emem Isong’s movie with Desmond as director I get discouraged and they are yet to change my opinion.
For example, I expected much more from Spellbound and was disappointed. I’m about to watch Kiss & Tell, but not excited at all.
Can someone tell Emem Isong to stop recycling her actors? I am so tired of seeing the same faces with the same attitudes in the different movies.
FYI:
It’s not a 2 part movie. The sequel is called Passionate Heart. In my opinion a complete waste of time but I find it to be more interesting than Timeless Passion
I love all the actors in this movie
those are ridiculous customs and traditions and should be brought to an end immediately, as for the movie, i haven’t finished it yet, but so far so good, anyway i still think emem should step up her game, look at blessing’s two brides and a baby, that is what i call stepping up,am still waiting for i will take my chances.
Sounds like an interesting movie. Those customs are on the way out!
