‘Trinity’ tells the story of power, corruption, obsession and envy among other things that characterizes the generality of African politics. Presidential candidate, Macoy Yeboah (Kofi Adjorlolo), is a hair close to clinching political power, yet a case of corruption and drug trafficking leveled against him by Barrister Naveda Daniels (Nadia Buari) threatens his political ambition. With the assistance of Nevada’s fellow Barrister, Dan (Majid Michel), Macoy Yeboah sets up Naveda with the murderer of another lawyer, Val Ayew (Luckie Lawson). Naveda finds herself betrayed and on the run from the law, with the police on her trail. What would she do to clear her good name and to allow real justice to prevail?- Ghana Web
Trinity part 1, 2 and 3
Pascal Amanfo
Macdavies-G-Udikah
2010
-Story: [3 out of 5] I think it could be classified as quite an entertaining story. It’s intriguing and suspenseful… it’s a Pascal Amanfo film and Pascal did as Pascal does
-Originality: [2 out of 5] To a certain extent, Kofi played his usual Kofi role. All the political corruption, blackmails and set ups. Same old but with a different spice (I’d say)
-Predictability: [4 out of 5] There’s a couple things you know off the bat about a Pascal Amanfo film and that is the fact that it will have a typical Ghanaian star cast and it will be extremely unpredictable.
-Directing/Editing: [3 out of 5] I thought it was basically a good job. The movie did not get into four parts… so props to y’all
-Acting quality: [3 out of 5] Majid was… breathtaking. He carried that role pass T all the way to U. Immaculate performance from the best actor Africa has produced in a long while. Kofi is beginning to become quite stereotyped actually… same old same old. Kalsum was not as forced as she usually is these days but there was still that element of force. From time to time Nadia had scenes where she seemed like she was reciting the lines but thankfully the scenes in which she was actually acting far outnumbered those. Jerry Amilo. Looks like a thug… can’t act. Eddie Nartey… (here’s a surprise)… plays the role of a cop… again! Luckie Lawson, I still maintain that there’s something about her delivery that has the capacity to put one off. Her body language is amazing but her delivery of the lines…. something’s not falling together. The stand out act (besides Majid ofcourse) in this movie was definitely, child actor, Imogen Hogg. Such amazing work…. all I have to say is:
“don’t patronize me, officer“
-Setting: [3 out of 5] On point. You can tell that money was spent… but unfortunately, not the same amount of effort was put into all sets.
-Costume/Make-Up: [3 out of 5] Generally good
-Props and Graphics: [2 out of 5] I felt like the CIA feel (i.e the thing where they pause time. Frame a person’s face. Zoom in and then type the character’s biodata on the side of the screen) was overused. In fact, it was abused. I realize that this was probably the period when they just figured out how to use this… thereby causing them to use it in almost all movies preceding this one (see… “The Game“). Regardless, it was too much
-Video Quality: [3 out of 5] Ok
-Audio Quality [3 out of 5] Good
-Soundtrack: [4 out of 5] Nice. Listen to the soundtrack below
-Musical Score: [4 out of 5] Nicely done
