Horribly executed
-Story: [0 out of 5] If I were to describe the storyline (and I use that term veeerrrrryyy loosely) behind this movie in one word, it’d be ‘unrealistic’. Now of course, if I was afforded the opportunity to use even more words, I’d lean towards ‘stupid’ and ‘ridiculous’. I mean… come on now? What is this madness… earlier in the movie it seemed to be going somewhere with the ‘crazy ones’ revelations from her past and what not but then it was all downhill from here. My candid advice is to spare yourself the headache and don’t click play on this foolishness
-Originality: [0 out of 5] This movie reminded me of many different movies (all useless): from Tonto Dikeh in “Dirty Secret” to Yvonne Okoro in “No Apologies“
-Predictability: [1 out of 5] It ended the only way it possibly could
-Directing/Editing: [2 out of 5] Just like I associate all of the useless movies out of Ghana with Kensteve Anuka, I’m beginning to feel the same way about Afe Olumowe. But there’s a difference in his case. One can note attempts at actual professional cinematography with his work. If only he’d pay more attention to the detail and not hurry through the production, and even more importantly, choose better scripts to work with.
-Acting quality: [1 out of 5] I only acknowledge the presence of two actors in this movie: Artus Frank and Tonto Dikeh…. And you know all is not well when I refer to Artus Frank as an actual actor. But there’s something they say about the one eyed man being the king in the land of the blind, same applies here. One cannot possibly be infuriated by the performance of Artus Frank when there are more important (/annoying) acts to contend with. Enter “Onyinye Alex”. Why is this girl suddenly in so many movies? One would think that if the babe is in all these movies then she must be capable of acting. But MBA! The babe no act shishi. Alright, I exaggerate. I’ve seen worse. But she is most definitely too stiff to be given a lead role already (come, tell me, what is your secret? Is the director your brother? Or your ‘uncle’… jk jk… don’t crucify me abeg). Tonto, hmm… I no fit shout. All I can say is that I’m thankful that in 2012, she isn’t doing so much of these controversial nonsensical type films. The extras and basically ‘almost’ everybody else in this production was torturous.
-Setting: [3 out of 5] Ok
-Costume/Make-Up: [3 out of 5] No glaring faults
-Props and Graphics: [3 out of 5] Fair
-Video Quality: [3 out of 5] I saw the movie on irokotv.com and the video quality on there wasn’t that amazing, but then I saw the trailer and it looked much better. So I assume the quality is highly dependent on your own copy
-Audio Quality [1 out of 5] The audio was all over the place
-Soundtrack: [3 out of 5] Not bad
-Musical Score: [3 out of 5] Fair
I’d hope so too
Shaking my head at you MS Reinvented. I would hope when you approached him, he ignored the hell out of you!!
Indeed, there is!
Even the person that was ‘trying’ to take up for you says that you are only right SOMEtimes which means SOMEtimes you are wrong!! You are certainly wrong about Artus Frank! Either you have no taste, or either you bad mouth him so because secretly you love him!! There’s a thin line between love and hate. HA HA HA HA LOLZZZZZ
NR how are you? Well the truth is you are very right sometimes Artus is just there, sometimes he acts well,i seen alot of his movies and u are so so right,i watch people act alot so i can tell, dont mind the person wroting that he or she is probably a friend to Artus,or one of the people that made this movie, some Nollywood people come here to read their Fuck ups,i wont mention names, pls continue to say it the way it is,for real u are right most times,i am sure of that, take care dear
This is a very good movie! Reinvented needs to reinvent her way of thinking. Don’t let her influence you from one of the greatest experiences I have had watching a film. This is a great original movie. Artus Frank was awesome!!! Every time I watch that scene in the bathroom, it makes me cry. His emotions become mine. His acting is so real. Artus performance really moved me in this film. And for you just to rip it up and cut it up like you did is a tragedy. It’s sad. It really is. That movie critic is not ‘allowed’ to be truthful, because of politics in the industry. Tell the truth. Who is really the fake one here? You are fake, fake, fake, fake & fake!!!
You got one thing right, “it’s sad. It really is”.
That someone would write this script and think it’s worth making into a movie…”it’s sad. It really is”
That people would read this script and go and act in this…. “it’s sad. It really is”
That other people or should I say PR agents and family members (or just the actors themselves) would actually go about defending this ‘crap’ (forgive my word choice) …”it’s sad. It really is”
That movie critic is not ‘allowed’ to be truthful, because of politics in the industry? Lmao… which politics. And even if there is, how does the politics affect me? I’m not a member of this industry. I’m a complete outsider (a position I work hard to retain) simply stating my views which you must see some truth in since you are going out of your way to annihilate them.
Regardless to each his own. I recognize your right to free speech so by all means voice your opinion.
I assure you Ms. Reinvented. I am not an actor, actress, nor am I connected with the entertainment industry in any way. I AM AN ARTUS FRANK FAN. I LOVE HIS MOVIES. I DO. I REALLY DO!!! I do believe some of his films could have been better written or directed. However, that’s not his fault. But Artus performances alone are moving and very entertaining.
I am from the U.S. I’ve been watching Nollywood for over a year now. Maybe I like him because he reminds me of the Hollywood actors over here. But I will compare him to those actors as well. His facial expressions are on point. HE IS GOOD.
You know what movies I watched this weekend? After I could not find any of Artus new movies, I watched Tyler Perry’s ‘Medeas Witness Protection’. It was a great movie. After I watched it, I searched again for one of Artus’ films. I found ‘Strippers’. I was up until 3am in the morning watching this film because I like this guy so much!
Let me tell you something. If you want Nollywood to get world wide recognition, (and dollars, and pounds, etc.) you are going to have to have talented actors represent you. These useless political games you play in Africa are not going to cut it with the rest of the world. Frankly, (no pun intended) no one gives a damn who daughter or son you are in Africa to the rest of the world. The rest of the world is going to care about whether that actor can deliver.
I totally disagree. Great movie, great cast! I question your motives Miss Reinvented! Are you paid to degrade certain films? Some films are great, but you always seem to put them down. And here you are insulting Artus Frank yet again! Sometimes you say he’s an amazing actor, but his English isn’t that good. Then you claim he’s not a good actor at all. Are you double minded? Your criticism is not consistent at all!! Stop picking on this beautiful talented man! Give credit where credit is due!! Artus Frank is a talented, amazing, entertaining actor. Frankly if it wasn’t for him, I would barely watch Nollywood. Simple.
Actually, Yes I am paid by the International Institution of Frank Artus haters. We are an international group with offices in every major city worldwide. We meet 3 times a year to discuss just how much we can bring down the career of Frank Artus.
I mean, seriously? I’d usually ignore comments like this but some claims are just outright outrageous and hold no water in any form shape or size.
As regards my references to Artus’ skills that you pointed out, I think that is more of an issue of his consistency than it is of me pointing out his lack thereof. I can not be held responsible for the fact that in certain movie Artus puts in effort (obvious effort) and in others he doesn’t.
When pitted against great actors, his inadequacies are glaring but in the midst of sub par actors, he appears stronger.
Regardless, I realize that each person is entitled to his or her own opinion so to each his own.
Well then we are glad that you have found a reason to ‘watch Nollywood’ in Artus.
Actually, Artus is not a reason I watch Nollywood. He is THE reason that I watch it!
Artus always puts in good efforts! What the hell is wrong with you? Are you blind or something? What great actors? Please name them. I have not watched a better Nollywood actor. So you call what those emotionless and stiff performances those other Nollywood actors do good acting? Well if that’s all you are use to is dysfunction, then that’s all you can appreciate. Maybe that’s only what you are familiar with is a cold, lifeless, no excitement, dead life. So in turn that’s what you celebrate. Then it makes you unable to relate to the finer things of life (ARTUS).
But I’m glad you finally admitted that you ARE just a hater. But I know actually a hater is really just a confused admirer!
If this would have been any one of his other films, I would not have gone in so hard. But I loved, loved, loved this movie. And, obviously, I love Artus as an actor. This one’s one of my favorites!! His performance was dynamic!! The bathroom scence — Ms. Reinvented come on now was gooooood!!!
I must say your comments are very entertaining and funny. I actually like the way you express yourself. However, please don’t allow your desire to entertain lead to misjudgements, exaggerations, and untruths. I know, I know they are just your opinions… Thanks for allowing us to express ours as well. 😉 ~one love. peace.
