Great storyline, Not predictable, Good actors, Good theme
Too long credits, Four parts, Stupid name
Ok, this film was not bad. This film was more than passably good. There were no overlong or even pointless scenes, the plot was good and the acting was good. Tell me why they decided to name it something so stupid. If this film had been named something else, at least people will be more encouraged to watch. It was clearly a marketing technique so we can equate it with Blackberry Babes. Unfortunately Blackberry Babes was a crap movie and no other film should be associated it or even have ‘babes’ in its title. Anyway it just goes to show that we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. I personally just wanted something in the background while I did some studying but it turned out to be a diamond(ok maybe not diamond but something precious) in the rough.
The plot was not original but it was good and not rambling and stupid. The movie was a four parter however I didn’t even notice because it was interesting. It started with a bang, and I constantly had to go back to see if I missed anything. I never do that. It wasn’t like seat grippingly thrilling but it was engaging and I did not anticipate certain events. It had a theme and it stuck really closely to the theme and each and every scene had some bearing to the theme. I was impressed. There were quite a few storylines but they weren’t hard to follow. And if they would do a prequel to the storyline of the demon that tried to live a normal life I would watch it too.
The extras were not bad, not bad at all. No one was wooden and stiff, although obviously there were some that needed more practice it wasn’t glaringly obvious.Nuella Njubigbo carried her own and I saw no fault with her performance, on the other hand Angela Okorie did not have enough confidence for the role and she came off a bit false. Amanda Ebeye has been an actress that I have watched grow since I first saw her in ‘Clinic Matters’ and while she is good here, she needs to challenge herself with different roles and personalities.
I can only describe the actual directing and producing as tight. Obviously someone knew what they were doing and did it well. However the special effects … could have been better. The costuming and props were okay, they obviously had to go through an enormous amount of Brazilian hair for the movie (some of them didn’t look like Brazilian hair sha) and the costume for the ‘demon world’ were okay-meaning that they will never get better. The credits at the beginning of the ,movie didn’t need to be that long though, they went on for about 5-7 minutes.
In conclusion, watch this movie, it’s interesting, engaging and has a really important moral that is displayed well. If I were to criticise, it would be that there didn’t need to be so many storylines no matter how well done they were.
4 parts? That’s too long
Apart from that it sounds interesting even though I totally share your point of view, no film title should even have ‘babes’ in it
