Tears in my Eyes
Angela Phillips, Ashley Nwosu, Kate Henshaw, Larry Koldsweat, Ngozi Ezeonu, Ramsey Nouah, Thelma Okoduwa
-Story: [2 out of 5] It’s not that fascinating of a story come to think of it but it is quite entertaining regardless. However, if you are easily irritated by superstitious and unrealistic movies this might not be the movie for you. It does not have a global appeal but if it appeals to you then you’ll be entertained. Pros of the movie are that it gets straight to the point from scene one. No time wasting with 2 part exposition. Cons for me was basically that Ramsey and Kate fell in love too quickly and decided to get married too quickly
-Originality: [1 out of 5] We’ve all seen voodoo movies in Nigerian movies and ghost stories and jealousy stories. This movie is all that with a little more
-Predictability: [3 out of 5] I don’t know about anyone else but when the question came to play, I knew who the killer was. It’s always those who talk the most and act the most eager that are the witches and witchesses. However, prior to the end of the second part the movie was going in a certain direction but switched gears making it less predictable.
-Directing/Editing: [3 out of 5] Don’t we all just miss the Ejiros and the Bensons of old Nollywood? The editing did a good job, it was a suspense movie and everything needed to fall into place and the editor saw to this.
-Acting quality: [2 out of 5] Extras can’t act. Kate Henshaw is an amazing actress. So is Ramsey Noah however that fake American/British or whatever -ish accent needs to fly out of the window with immediate effect. You no fit so no try am.
-Setting: [2 out of 5] Generally good, but what I couldn’t understand is why there were only about two or three people at the wedding ceremony? This is the second movie with a questionable wedding ceremony that I’ve seen in the past week? Do we just not like wedding scenes or is it too hard to find people on the road with good clothes to act as extras? Here’s a suggestion, blow up human size balloons.
-Costume/Make-Up: [2 out of 5] I liked the general make up and what not. Kate’s hair was a bit iffy for me in the beginning but it just took getting used to (like Rihanna’s red hair on right).
-Props and Graphics: [1 out of 5] The ghost graphics could use some help
-Video Quality: [3 out of 5] Ok especially considering the year of production. I was quite amazed by the fact that I could see in all the night scenes and I wonder… If the night scenes in a 2008 movie was vivid then what excuse does a 2012 movie have in the presence of all this new technology? Are you shooting from a camcorder?
-Audio Quality [1 out of 5] Place fingers permanently on the remote. It is an old movie after all
-Soundtrack: [3 out of 5] Ok.
-Musical Score: [3 out of 5] Good
