We are back and we are still on it #2016YearInReview. This one was a bit more difficult to curate than its counterpart but we narrowed it down to 3 actors. The probable reason why could have been that there were a variety of options from O.C Ukeje in Arbitration to Ramsey in 76 but they did not overlap, therefore the few that did (and consequently made more money at the B.O.) were the only ones that made the list.
DISCLAIMER: This is still not our talent list and this list based solely on actor’s financial returns and marketability in the past year.
3) Blossom Chukwujekwu
Blossom started the year with the hit film “Ghana Must Go” alongside Yvonne Okoro and he makes the list for that film as well as his role in Omoni Oboli’s “Okafor’s Law” which showed at the Toronto International Film Festival.
2) AY Makun
There was no way the male version of Omoni Oboli was not going to make the list because when it comes to Nollywood, apparently everything he touches is fire. If his barrage of AMVCA nominations do not convince you then look up the numbers for his 2016 movie “A Trip to Jamaica” and its box office returns this year. AY also makes the list for his appearance in another big hit movie of the year, Kemi Adetiba’s “The Wedding Party”
1) Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD)
There have been people ‘reporting’ all RMD features as “the return of RMD” for almost two years now. Can we go ahead and state that RMD has returned and in full force. From his Oloibiri performance in 2015, RMD makes the list also for his appearance in two other hit movies of the year “The Wedding Party” and “Okafor’s Law”
